brave Georgian patriot more than anybody else imaginable.

Apparently Georgians do not believe, he is brave. No wonder, they mock him displaying a large plush bear with tie in the mouth an wearing pampers.

This is for his behavior as he hid himself screaming seeing one unidentifed (Russian or Georgian?) warplane overhead. That was pretty pathetic - it's what you or me can allow, but neither of us are presidents of a country.

Somebody's stance towards Russia is largely neutral. You should not judge a politician just based on what it looks pretty strong hatred towards Russia you have.

Besides, your computer is fully packed with Russian products. You should throw away your harddrive (caching procedure), Phoenix BIOS, controllers and who-knows-what.

Next step would be to burn your Japanese or American car - it is too, packed with Russian microcode and firmware.

Just relax, Saak is merely someone who is extremely under-qualified for his job. If tomorrow he would make a pilgrimage to Kremlin while dancing under balalaika-music and devouring okroshka soup instead of neckties - I would still say the same.

An other example is Voronin - who apparently became very Kremlin-friendly lately, but despite of that he does not receive much praise here.

The counter-example is Albin Kurti - you can't find a stronger anti-Serb / Russian all over Albania + Kosovo. He is barely being criticized. What happened?

Ataman,

You are predicting the sacking of Saak for a long time. You seem to hate that brave Georgian patriot more than anybody else imaginable.

Anyone who dares to opposes them or wants a better Russia then a pretentious of a democratic state winds up dead.

Recently we see some better signs and I have more sympathy towards Medvedjev than Putin. What will be the future and how much role Putin will play in it - to be seen.

What is insane is Russia run by KJB-FSB members that make up the core of advisers in the Kremlin. With Putin at the top of the bloody murderous feeding chain. Anyone who dares to opposes them or wants a better Russia then a pretentious of a democratic state winds up dead.

I cannot understand the problem.

We cannot even accuse NATO because non-NATO members like Armenia, Kazakhstan and Serbia (all considered Russia's allies) will be there and Russia was invited.

Is somewhat else there what is not reported? The place (Georgia) is not ideal, this could be a valid concern. But it was chosen well before August 2008 and why punish everyone for Saakashvili's mistake?

Maybe just send 1-2 observers formally for shortened period of time. Or even more: humilitate Saakashvili by letting the observers cross the border at S. Ossetia and/or Abkhasia and letting him know it in advance.

He (Saak) will of course object, but than NATO + few more countries would be put at question, what to do:

a) tell Saakashvili to shut up and crawl away where he came from
b) face some (probably very mildly) unpleasant reaction from Moscow.

My guess is a) of course. Saakashvili's political value for NATO is zero.

As a result, Moscow could make a little victory out of little bit unpleasant (for them, as it is now) but still insignificant fact. Plus more chances, Saak will be sacked by his people.
