Concern over Pirate Bay ruling

The conviction of four men behind the Pirate Bay file-sharing website for breach of copyright raises fears it could lead to the “criminalization of consumers”.

Well the Pirate Bay don't contain any copyrighted material. It is only a service that lets users share files between each other. The shared files are never touched by the Pirate Bay tracker. It only contains the torrents and a search engine which can be used to find out which files are available on the users disks, not the Pirate Bay's disks. It is entirely up to the users to decide what kind of files they want to share between each other. The tracker is neutral.

To put Pirate Bay on trial is like putting BMW on trial beacuse they make cars that can be used to break the speed limit. It is not BMW who breaks the speed limit, it is the USER driving the car that is responsible for that.
