Haha, what are you talking about? Italy has one of the best armies in the world! They have the 8th highest expenditure in the world and some of the best equipment!

Sorry Peter if i wasn't clear enough ...No comparison between Albania and Poland certainly...only it's clear that from a military point of view also Italy is nowdays almost useless..Only USA and GB-FRANCE are really NATO in real term...

How is Poland useless to NATO? OK, our army still has a lot of upgrading to do and can't be compared yet to UK, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Spain or Canada, but comparing us to Albania???

Firstly, we have +- 100 modern jet fighters (F-16 and Mig-29) with +- 50 more coming, +- 1000 modern MBTs (Leopard 2, PT-91 and T-72) and are also in the process of updating our artillery, helicopters and navy (with many modern pieces ordered).

Secondly, we have been given command of regions in Iraq (one of three countries together with US and UK) and Ghazni Province in Afghanistan, so obviously we cannot be called militarily useless in any way to NATO.

Anyway, back to the topic, NATO should focus now on Afghanistan and stop giving Georgia hope that they will join NATO, because they are not worth risking PfP relations between CSTO/SCO and NATO/ESDP, which are paramount to world security.

Looking at Korean war it seems, George S. Patton had very poor judgement. In particular, about the air force.

It was essentially a draw and luckily his "wise" advice fall on deaf ears.

Are you 13 years old, or something? You honestly want NATO to go to war against Russia? You realize that there would be nothing left of the North American and Eurasian continents if both sides start resorting to nuclear weapons? Besides, what Patton said then means nothing in today's reality, a war between NATO and Russia would result in millions of dead and billions of dollars worth of damage that even WW2 couldn't. Besides, you're from Albania, a militarily useless NATO country that would only be feeding its soldiers to the meat grinder.

CG and Yarioslav,
From George S Patton:

"We promised the Europeans freedom. It would be worse than dishonorable not to see they have it. This might mean war with the Russians, but what of it? They have no Air Force anymore, their gasoline and ammunition supplies are low. I’ve seen their miserable supply trains; mostly wagons draw by beaten up old horses or oxen. I’ll say this; the Third Army alone with very little help and with damned few casualties, could lick what is left of the Russians in six weeks. You mark my words. Don’t ever forget them. Someday we will have to fight them and it will take six years and cost us six million lives."

Time for NATO to get to work

NATO is not holding exercises to flex muscles at Russia, it is holding exercises to show the Georgian opposition that it supports Saakashvili. Apparently Misha didn't fly, contrary to some predictions earlier, in August. Alas, the jury is still out on that one, but it seems that NATO has more political influence inside Georgia that Russia does. Maybe someone in Kremlin didn't think the whole thing over very carefully, despite the claims of being a chess-master and all. More like a backgammon-master...

I do not think that Russia is worried about 1900 or so NATO soldiers exercising in Georgia. Georgia is clearly challenging Russia and it is odd that NATO want to hold exercises in a non NATO member country. At least Georgia will not be so stupid to attack the South Ossetia and Abkhazia regions while NATO is visiting. I am sure that Saak'ashvili may think that NATO will back him and get drawn into a renewed conflict in case NATO soldiers "by accident" will get caught in crossfire between Georgian and Russian soldiers. These are very dangerous games. The West would not care one single bit about Georgia if it were not for the oil pipeline that The West is building.

To poster #1,attack Russia but like Alexander Nevsky said "Go tell all in foreign lands that Russia lives! Those who come to us in peace will be welcome as a guest. But those who come to us sword in hand will die by the sword! On that Russia stands and forever will we stand!".

Let the Americans attack, Americans will suffer the same fate as the the Teutonic Knights and Swedes against Alexander Nevsky (basically he destroyed their power in the middle ages), Napoleon, the Germans in WWI (see hoe bad post-war germany was, imagine what would have happenned if treasonous Bolsheviks continued the war) and the Nazi's in WWII.

So long as Georgia keeps close to NATO the situation there is only going to get worse. A determined Russia cannot be defeated in its own backyard and the sooner the tie eater is evicted the better.

Your Patton would have ended up in a trash boiler like Hitler did.
In 1945 the Russians outnumbered the "Allies" 3 to 1 with much better equipment.(tanks,guns,aircraft).
That, and only that was the reason AngloAmericans stood still.
Russia should uncompromisingly smash any American meddling in its hemisphere, starting with Georgia.

Patton was right!

pre 15 godina

Time for NATO to finally do what General George S Patton wanted to do after WWII, "civilize" Russia! They must not be allowed to threaten countries that want to escape its claws. Freedom!
