its so funny the difference between croats and serbs is only when christmas is and yet there are still huge divides between our peoples today, Let the past be the past, there only reason this is getting attention is because those kids did it on national tv, so its become political.

Why is Tadic getting involved in this? How high up do we need to go for a crime of this magnitude?

When the Croat mob attacked buses carrying Serbian basketball players and supporters it did not create such an incident that the Croatian president had to apologize or even comment but teenagers taking down a flag has become an international incident.

Tadic, get your priorities right and stop crawling up Croat's behinds.

Diljas is running around playing corrupt games with the port, destroying Roma houses and Belgrade's attention falls on what to do with two teeneage offenders.

Oh good grief! This is just another version of getting drunk and pinching a traffic cone or shopping trolley... teenagers doing stupid things - now there's something new. Just give them a caution, make them pay any damages and let their parents punish them.

They will no doubt be heroes at school.

If Tadic only knew what will happen he could have arranged for one day diplomatic visit to some foreign country! Now he has a major international problem on his head. However,if Tadic offers to send the perpetrators to the Hague - do you think he would be voted at least the man of the year, if not nominated for Nobel prize for peace?
Tadic, you better send some police to patrol around elementary schools to fight drug dealers that operate there. Or this is not in your job description so you think you are not paid for that?

And those people are in nato? They can't even protect their embassy from teenagers. I would enlist the boys into the army right now. Their services are needed for american operations. What happened to the flag? Did they burn it?

"Police also said they would work with the prosecution and a juvenile court judge to solve this case."

Very-very important case, I think it is not over-exposed enough. It should land up in Hague and also at UNSC.

But just in the case it won't happen... some ideas for do-it-yourself-parental-justice (good enough):

1) Six month no access to home computer + paying for the damage + removing all games from the said computer for at least a year. Paying for the damage should be done from "monthly allowance" of course.

2) the vacation on Jadran in HR will turned into "home arrest" with grandparents watching. Or do summer work and pay for the damage + punishment while others are on vacation.

3) personal apology in writing to the embassy (written 1000 times on the paper)

Or some combination of 1+2+3.

Some parents could even study the physiological results of their belt (Russian way) or cord (Hungarian way) being in "contact" with the rear side of the guys... but we do not support corporal punishment. Not sure, what is the Serbian "way", but 1+2+3 can be more nasty than "close encounter" of the butt with the belt.

I suspect there are far more important things the Serbian President could be doing.
(Pete, 11 April 2009 14:38) Sure Pete like telling the Serbs to vacation in Dalmatian Riviera.

When the Croatian state bothers to protect the interests of what's left of its shattered Serbian minority, perhaps then the wider public will take more of an interest in a teenage prank. I suspect there are far more important things the Serbian President could be doing.

So Croatian officials take down the Serbian flag during a recent sporting event and not a single word is mentioned by the Serbian president. Whole Serbian communities get their electricity turned off by Albanians in our southern province and still not a word from our president. Whole Roma families are evicted from their homes in Belgrade and left homeless by the current regime and the Serbian president keeps his silence.

However, two teenagers take down the Croatian flag in Belgrade and we now have an international incident that requires strong condemnation from the Serbian president. True European Union values at their best!
