Eight EU FMs call for visa abolishment

Surprise? Known "enemies" of certain Balkanians like Slovakia or Poland are not afraid - but the "true friends" - Germans, Austrians and Dutch are missing from the list.

And million thanks to Italy, I am really impressed, I did not expect it.

That vacation on Maldives some did promise... may end up on "enemy territory" in Poprad or Brasov because it's easier to get a visa, hotels and food cost 3 times less and you can even drive there.

From these countries, only Italy has an economy worthy of immigrating to. And that was 1-2 years ago, now, who knows. Ping me when France, Germany and UK want that.

I am, too just merely an Ausländer. They going to choke on their Bavarian sausage, why do you care? Ever lived in Germany?

Germany is a nice place to live. Embrace their culture, and learn their language while keeping your own. It is only those that want to bring their garbage ways from failed economies that do not integrate into their host countries that cause problems.

Stop crying and start performing. Visa will probably be abolished beginning next year. If the government does what they are supposed to do. This 'campaigning' is childish and counter productive.

Little bit more about that "sausage" and why "Bavarian".

- The number of retired people grows alarmingly
- The number of people who would support the retired ones is shrinking
- The governing style is very paternalistic and micro-managing
- The "Ausländer" are universally regarded by all parties (and more importantly: mass media) as a valve where anger of population can be let out
- The country badly needs experienced workers, engineers, etc-etc-etc, but not just nothing done, even worse: many who do arrive earlier or later will land up in UK or USA because of reasons above.

It is still a very attractive place to work - but you have to get used to some "specialties". Many people are not willing, so Germans will choke on their self-imposed limitations.

Regarding France:

If Germany is a place *** some *** people can get used to, France is much more tough. If you happen to speak French not 100% perfectly - you are an underdog, no matter, how good are your skills. Better to pretend to be a tourist from, say, Canada with some little French roots or a francofile from some interesting background.
An other problem is the French labor law which makes impossible to fire people. Hence, no one is hired either.

Regarding UK:

Many things are fine and dandy compared with France or Germany, but never underestimate the most miserable weather on the continent. Rural England is also home of some great hillbillies and English are not the easiest to deal with either. Try to get engineering samples or arrange a meeting to discuss technical issues....

All above problems do not exist in the States to the degree in Germany / France / UK. If you want to immigrate, skip the rest, go for US Green Card or H1B visa. Just make sure, you do not land up in a sorry State like Michigan. In general, West Coast is a safer bet than the East or the Middle. And has superb weather.

There are of course some little "gotchas" with the States, too... enough to write few books.

This case is a proof: you can be with us. But I am not sure, THEY want us.
Who are the "us" is precisely the list of East European countries plus Italy. I am really thankful to Italy they show a bravery to stand up I never expected from them.

Who is missing from the list is UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Austria showing the true face and honesty of their governments. Others are less significant.
