Greece is a country that has always shown caracter. No wander one of their national holidays is the so calle "Ohi" day - The "NO' da, when they refused to become Mussolini's servants. Now they blocked the architectur of NATO in the area, leaving a gap between NATO members Albania, Greece and Bulgaria. that could turn into a dangerous noman's land. In a time when the intelectual property is more valuable than the real estate, they will not alow the Glory of Ancient Macedonia to be associated with another country. Yet the Macedonians alwo have there reasons. Their newly formed national identity is firmly linked to the name MAcedonia. Any retereat would bring an identity crisis. What does it mean to be a Macedonian? In the mid 20th century after switching from one coutry to another five times in 31 years the generation of president Gligorov (92 years old) was contended just to be called Macedonians and by that meant neither Serb, nor Bulgarian (obviously nor Greek, Turk or Albanian). For the generations of Gruevski that grew up as Macedonians that was not enough! The theory of the Slav Macedonian nation faded away and they started to identify with the ancient Macedonians! But how would the following generations that will grow in "Nothern Macedonia" or "New Macedonia" identify with???

Yes the name dispute will be resolved accordingly when Greece finally understands and implements the basics of democracy and human rights, the right of self determination and freedom of expression. Only then we will have a suitable solution to our name dispute. Logic is a key factor too.

Greeks are so busy claiming the past they might as well act like the inventors of democracy as per the real ancient Greeks!

Who are todays Greeks anyway? we should all get our heads out of the sand and live and let live...

Stop trying to impose our own versions of History on each other... nationalism is a sick poison...

Long live freely and fairly the people who express themselves as Macedonians.. No matter how ridiculous their claim to Ancient Macedoniasm is...
