Well, they did start the Korean War by invading the South. This was cost the lives of millions of people. And I do not think that they are all that happy living in their backwards Communist hole, given the amount of people that keep defecting to the South of the country.

The problem for me with NK is that they did pretty bad things in the past - bombing civil airliners, hijacking innocent Japanese citizens and forcing them to live in NK. And that the "Dear Leader" is one of the biggest crooks in the area, fully deserving 10 feet of rope around his neck.

And execution of non-violent people who just to dare think different is not a virtue I value.

But: there is much of disinformation and bad propaganda against NK as well. It is a pretty sorry place, but the way to deal with it is very different than how the State Department does deal.

I would not just remove any economic sanction - just the opposite, I would SPONSOR any "Western" good, in particular IT products being sold to NK. And do everything to ensure the best communication: transport links, etc.

Just look how VietNam did transform itself. Still a "Communist" country, of course but only nominally. Here (with VietNam) Bill Clinton should receive the deserved credit. Unlike with YU and NK.

By the way what's wrong with North Korea ? Have they ever attacked somebody in their history ? What if they are satisfied with the life they lead ? They are very poor but they accept no outside pressure.

With a 1 000 000 personnel only under the Defence Ministry including 8 divisions of special forces they can sleep very calm. So what's wrong if they have some of the armaments their main rival already obtains in big quantities ?
