To Pejoni,
Can you please not use words which meaning you do not understand or choose to ignore, like democracy. Kosovo at the moment is not even "D" out of Democracy and thanks to people like yourself is probably the only pure ethnic teritory in Europe. So much for humanitarian intervention...

Here's the thing. It's pointless for those remaining few Serbs to even try to live in northern Kosovo and not recognize Kosovo's government. Why? Because if they don't, and only recognize the Serb government, then in about 10-15 yrs the Serbs living there will simply disappear. How? By shear population growth. Albanians have a rate of population growth two or three times higher than those of Serbs. A few thousand Serbs is nothing for Albanians; their population increases by tens of thousands every year. Eventually, they'll naturally go to northern Kosovo and nobody could stop them. Certainly not the old and aging Serb population living there. So the Serbs have to either accept Kosovo's government, or move to Serbia since they'll be naturally dispersed anyways.

This mess created by USA and NATO wont be solved until final separation between Serbs and Albanians. So, Northern part of Kosovo should secede and join Serbian proper and the rest of Serbs living in ghettos should exchange their land and houses for the same number of Albanians from Presevo valley in Serbia. The Greeks and Turks did the same thing in 1921 and so should we, to close this sad chapter in Albano-Serb relations.

"The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) abducted civilians in Kosovo who were then mistreated and in some cases killed, a BBC investigation has found. [Along with Serbs,] ethnic Albanians and gypsies were among an estimated 2,000 who went missing."

VS

"1,500 Kosovo Albanians are still missing from wartime, when Serb security forces carried out many, well-documented atrocities against the majority Albanian population."

So how come I don't see any KLA members being prosecuted by the ICJ even though the numbers clearly show that the KLA are just as, if not more, responsible for a number of atrocities?

Protesting against people who want to return to their houses, pathetic.

By the way, these are people who want to return to their homes and should be supported just like Serbs returnees. Only difference is that Serbs have sold their properties so there is nothing to come back to.
One more issue is return of Albanians to Medvegja. Is Serbia doind anything about this? 10's of thousands of Albanians that use to live in Medvegja and sorroundings
are still living in Kosova as refugees.

I can't see any problem with Ethnic Albanians rebuilding their homes.

However I do have a problem until Serbs are allowed to start returning, reclaiming their rightful land and rebuilding their homes that were stolen.

Adam

Keep up the protest fellow Serbs, Mitrovica is Serb and will stay that way until Kosovo goes back to Serbia.
I cant believe that K-Albs think that Serbs could ever live under Albanian rule, maybe in Never Never Land?

Bez_Cenzure

Protest is completely justified. Why! Because this is the way of governement of Prishtina to expand their rule in northern Kosovo dominated by Serbs. On the other side they are doing everything to disable serbian refugees to get back to their homes southern from the Ibar river. Serbs cannot cross that bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica without fear let alone they can return their property in predominantly Albanaian southern part of the city.

So this is nothing more but the well planned provocation.

EA

Those opposing the rebuilding of houses seems to advocate those Albanians whom burned the Serbian house in March to have finish "the job" in northern Mitrovica. Shame on everyone whom is afraid on rebuilding!

“If we keep treating people in a politicised way, how will they ever be expected to behave reasonbly. It must just be that some people just want to return to their homes, and that they are SICK of the politics that has punished them so much”.
Bganon, that’s absolutely what I meant. The return process has been politicized and it is being politicized. Politicians are playing and using these poor people to gain some points for themselves. Serbia should push Kosovo Serbs to try and integrate in the main flows in Kosovo, and not make their life harder by encouraging them to boycott Kosovo Institutions. Like it was the case with some villages which were cut electricity; instead for the representatives to go and talk to Kosovo Institutions they went to Belgrade, because that’s how they were encouraged to do. But did this solve their problems? I don’t think so.

I don't know why Kosovo's government is paying for Serb reternee's houses, when these Albanian folks are prevented to rebuild their houses with their own funds. All people in Kosovo should have the right to return to their houses, no matter what their is their nationality. As far as the number of Serb returnees go, appointed minister for Kosovo Bogdanovic(from Serbia) said few weeks ago that "there are 15% of us(Serbs)in Kosovo", mathematiclly making 330000 Serbs in Kosovo.
As far as bananas and Gambia, Gambia has both bananas and seacoast, Serbia has neither seacoast nor bananas. The only thing I can think of Serbia has for the moment is "Plazma" keks which eyes to sell them in Kosovo.

I understand that some people are irrational when it comes to such matters in which they have a passion to hold a certain position, but I am surprised that their people with authority hold these same positions.
I have never heard an Albanian politician saying that they are against a Serb building his/her own home.
In fact, tax money has been supporting their return, meanwhile the perpetrator state called Serbia is living in denial and has made no reparation toward the families of those people it murdered mercilessly. "Democratic and sovereign" Serbia has no program for Albanians driven out of Preveso valley, but only has programs for its militarization. Its people nonetheless are duped by propaganda coming from their own goverment; propaganda paid by their own tax money.

Ah the times we live in.

PZ you start your comment reasonably then go on to refer to some kind of loyalty pleadge for Serbs if they want to return to their homes. I'm completely against that, those that want to return to their homes do not have to make those types of political decisions.

Dear Albanian friends,
The amount of cynicism coming from your Kosovo Albanian "goverment" is staggering. They have no right to demand nothing until all those thousands of non-Albanians that were expelled (about 250,000) return to their homes, many of which we know have been taken and occupied by Albanians.

PZ

pre 15 godina

I absolutely agree that everyone should be allowed and even supported to rebuild their homes; Albanians, Serbs, Roma, everyone. I’m really sorry for those families who really want to go back to their property but because of the politics they can not. So, to me, it’s all up to politics, while those poor families live in camps or in basements with minimal living conditions.
If Serbian government really wants those people to come back to Kosovo then this is pretty simple; just tell them Kosovo is your homeland and all your problems should be addressed there, through Kosovo’s institutions. I’m sure that international donors, apart from the Kosovo Government, would support this process.

Dragan, if you think it is so easy to bribe a country to recognize Kosovo, then why doesn’t Serbia offer some more money so these countries can revoke their decisions?

(Dragan, 8 April 2009 15:31)

Yes dragan, every couintry who recognized Kosovo, was paid with a drug money. Even USA, Canada, Germany and many many more countries were paid with drug money. Like it was the case with some villages which were cut electricity; instead for the representatives to go and talk to Kosovo Institutions they went to Belgrade, because that’s how they were encouraged to do. But did this solve their problems? I don’t think so.

Keep up the protest fellow Serbs, Mitrovica is Serb and will stay that way until Kosovo goes back to Serbia.
I cant believe that K-Albs think that Serbs could ever live under Albanian rule, maybe in Never Never Land?

I support the rights of people to return to their homes, no matter what their nationality.

However, I see returns as a two way process. I don't accept that its right that only Albanians have the right to return to Serb majority areas or vice versa. Both must happen.

PZ you start your comment reasonably then go on to refer to some kind of loyalty pleadge for Serbs if they want to return to their homes. I'm completely against that, those that want to return to their homes do not have to make those types of political decisions.

If we keep treating people in a politicised way, how will they ever be expected to behave reasonbly. It must just be that some people just want to return to their homes, and that they are SICK of the politics that has punished them so much.

This mess created by USA and NATO wont be solved until final separation between Serbs and Albanians. So, Northern part of Kosovo should secede and join Serbian proper and the rest of Serbs living in ghettos should exchange their land and houses for the same number of Albanians from Presevo valley in Serbia. The Greeks and Turks did the same thing in 1921 and so should we, to close this sad chapter in Albano-Serb relations.

I can't see any problem with Ethnic Albanians rebuilding their homes.

However I do have a problem until Serbs are allowed to start returning, reclaiming their rightful land and rebuilding their homes that were stolen.

To Pejoni,
Can you please not use words which meaning you do not understand or choose to ignore, like democracy. Kosovo at the moment is not even "D" out of Democracy and thanks to people like yourself is probably the only pure ethnic teritory in Europe. So much for humanitarian intervention...
