Peggy,

Refering to Gambia recognition you said

"Big deal. Are they a veto holding country in the UN?
When you get Russia and China onborad, do let us know. Then it's news."

Peggy,

Is it a news when Jeremic meets Algerian, Lybian, Iranian and other leaders from "democratic" countries gaining "support" for continuing not to recognise Kosova's independence?

By the way China is not very happy with a neighbor (Russia) with such a large territory comparing to the number of population. In other side it is facing lack of the ground for its own (over billion) people. In other words it has better things to do than focusing on Serbia – Kosovo dispute which is so insignificant comparing to the above mentioned.

What major help did UCK received from Sudan?
(Adrian Gashi, 8 April 2009 04:01)

Fighters + money + moral support. Just google on "Usama bin-Laden". UCK was super-islamic as long as they did not have a stronger NATO support than one from Usama. That's called having a not-so-strong "backbone" and being opportunist.

I would just like to share this with you all. As I am sure B92 will post the news here shortly, I would just like to let you know that Gambia has recognized Kosovo.

Cheers ...

Chinese are the only major power that honor their word with those that honor that same virtue. The Chinese people are especially known to honor good deeds in difficult times and never forget them--Neither do the Serbs. Life goes on.

if gambia counts more than china than i am very happy for the crowd celebrating here;
however, don't get carried away when judging the oppressive regimes, for it depends how you look at things; why don't you ask the iraqis, afghans, vietnamese, etc. who are their biggest oppressors...

Let us not forget that the United States relies on China's money to fund its huge budget deficits. Maybe there will be some room for the US to rethink it's attitude in international affairs in the coming years.

Why does't B92 mention about the NATO membership of Albania and Croatia?
Why does't B92 mention about Republic of Gambia's recognition of Kosovo?

China and Serbia have only one thing in common and that's not respecting minorities in their countries. I think both countries have to learn a lesson from Kosova's democratic government.

Free Tibet NOW, may peace rule the whole world.

Glad to see Iraq and Afganistan holding democratic elections. It doesn't get any better than when you see women along side men participating in their parliaments/governments.

Albani.., there's no "Thachi office"! That's virtual only! "Russia and China will go to Spain..." What??! About Kosovo?? In spite of TOTAL support of current powers Kosovo DID NOT establish a state!! There's no Kosovo as independent state and it will NEVER exist!

Further proof that "Kosova" will never enter the UN unless it comes to an agreement with Belgrade. The Chinese are even more tenacious and unyielding than the Russians -- they blocked Taiwan for almost 40 years now.

Again I ask, what's new?

These last few days all we've heard is that Serb officials are going back to countries that already support them to repeat the fact that they support Serbia.

It has happened with Slovakia, Spain, and now China.

Either Serbia is really that desperate or they want to make sure they don't lose the few friends they have.

"Peggy,

Our Foreign Minsiter had a meeting post-UN meeting (March 23rd) and it was quite fruitful."

L*O*G*I*C*, How so? The Chinese have come out once again saying they will support Serbia?
Do you need to be told once a week by non supporting countries that they will not support you just so you won't become delusional?

"Yes of course. What about North Korea, Cambogia, Sudan. Serbia seems to get on extremely well with oppressive regimes."
(EA, 7 April 2009 23:17)

EA, this is what you do. There is none more oppressive than the American Imperialist. The fact that they wear a cloak with a word "Democracy" printed on the back of it means nothing. Wolf is sheept's clothing.

. What about North Korea, Cambogia, Sudan. Serbia seems to get on extremely well with oppressive regimes.
(EA, 7 April 2009 23:17)

- Cambodia could be corrupt, but by no means oppressive.
- You should display more respect to Sudan - it's where, inshallah, UCK received some major help from. A pretty funny alliance between NATO and Usama's fundamentalists - but did not last long.
- Упаси боже from such "friends" as N.Korea, Iran, et all. On the other hand, Serbia has traditionally good relationship with "ABC" countries + India + China. Last is by no means a democracy, but is useful.

Like I would not be proud of such friends like Turkey and would not boost them being so much stronger than Greece. But many Albanians do because it seem to be useful for them. While Skanderbeg they admire so much probably rotating in his grave.

Never mix the moral and politics!

Peggy,

Our Foreign Minsiter had a meeting post-UN meeting (March 23rd) and it was quite fruitful. The ambassador of Gambia from that meeting promised recognition, a little over a week the Kosovar Embassy in Washington received word from Gambia citing the March 23rd meeting as a key reason for recogntion.

While our FM is rallying support, your leaders are rallying......ummm, reassurance from the same old yes-countries.

Well, according to Hyseni, China is looking like recognizing Kosovo.

I suspected as much. Hyseni cornered a Chinese delegate and the Chinese gentleman was too polite to tell him to get lost so he gave him some time to talk.
This all spelled recognition by the Albanians.

Very much appreciated China.
