I am not entirely sure about Spain recognizing Kosovo imminently although I am sure they will do so soon, however just to let you all know (as will B92 soon I am sure) that Gambia has recognized.

They all count 1.

Good bless ...

To Jovan; Spain is not in any case a little island, it is a peninsula. And it is not as huge as USA, Australia or United Kingdom or….
To all – I remember the time when even Albania did not dare to pronounce Kosova as a republic.
Position of Spain nowadays is not very popular amongst the decision making factor, they are entrenched not only on Kosovo issue but in many other sensitive questions. However, if I was a Serb I wouldn’t be so happy when the others take such a stance; remember it is nothing but their own interest.
However, how would you feel in the closest future, if Spain takes steps towards recognizing Kosovo’s independence (remember: THERE IS NO LOVE IN POLITICS).
Cheers,

Don't worry Peggy, this means that Serbia will be forced by Germany, France etc to recognize Kosova first, if they ever hope to join EU. If Serbia recognizes, Spain will as well. be careful what you wish for.
(Alban, 6 April 2009 01:41)

So this is what it has come down to Alban? Is this the basis for your argument? Force, intimidation, threats, bribery and coercion. By employing these methods, the West has already lost the moral, social and political argument on Kosovo.

Serbia will not yield one ince. She will mot sell 1cm of her territory nor will she renounce her culture or the very bedrock of the Serbian nation.

Alban, I'm afraid you will be waiting until the cows come home before Belgrade will ever give him its southern province. It has 2/3 of the planet behind her.

If recognition of Pristina's UDD is a precondition for Serbia's membership of the EU, then Belgrade will reply with a firm but polite NO.

First Alban your reply has nothing to do with the quote you repeated.
Second, is force the only way you know how to "encourage" people to do your bidding?
If someone is forced to do something which will benefit me, does that mean that I deserve it or it is right? Do you have any sense of right or wrong?

not so long ago, our dear albanian friends were announcing Egypt to recognize "soon" - in that case their "tabloids" were good enough for them... =)

kids, you don´t earn anything if you try to bend reality in every possible direction only to make if fit to your expectations ( or should I say "wishful thinking"? )

let´s just see what future brings.

but one thing should be even clear to you: Spain is not some little island in the pacific ocean...

B92, it doesn't say Spain will never recognize, they were (supposedly) told that Spain has a stronger position so focus on others for now.

It was a while ago since I laughed so hard as I did after reading albanian comments to this article. There is no limit to your imagination. Always trying to find excuses to reality. Serbia has accepted that some countries have recognized Kosovo why oh why can't you albos accept that there are countries that will not recognize the illegal decleration of independence made by the albos living in Kosovo? What makes you think that the entire world is sooo eager to invest their every living moment in Kosovo and the albanian population? You seem to think you are the "chosen people" and everyone is just dying to come to you aid. Let's forgett about terrorism, starvation, the environment etc, instead lets devote our lives for the albanian cause in Kosovo. For God's sake WAKE UP!!!

A person who leads a terrorist organisation and wages a war of terror against an innocent civilian population is a terrorist and should not be seen as a key Balkan political player but should be tried in a court of justice if such a thing can be found.

"Wow, when even Solana says this, you know that Spain's view is entrenched and there is no chance of changing. Great news indeed!"

Don't be so happy, Spain will not be the only left standing. Plus, even Spain will recognize if Serbia wants to join EU. One of the conditions is to (at least) not object to Kosova's membership in international institutions. Serbia can twist and turn but they will only delay their own EU membership. Albania has their SAA in full force and will join pretty soon now that they are NATO members.

This news article is very weak B92. It's a good strategy though "Let's try find *something* that would undermine Kosova".

Let me remind people that the same Thaci that is 'wanted' by Serbian courts is actually a key player in Balkans politics ;)

Good luck joining EU with an attitude like this!

One has to understand tabloids' sensational reportings on celebrities - unfair as it might be - but they are in the business of selling the papers. So, dismiss the accusations against Thaci, he never touched the question of unnecessary recognitions, it was just a friendly chat with Solana, you know, that boys' thing: how's your wife doing, are you using live frogs as a bait for catfish, or you consider it animal torture... Just small innocent talks, nothing more.

the funny thing is that Express is a tabloid newspaper. Half of the news they report are not even true.

So, I doubt, Solana said such thing and I doubt Thaci even brought up Solana case.

The funny thing only serb media quoted express, but no Albanian media quotes express, not even this news or any other news.

They did not even discuss Spain..............

I also look forward to the Czech Republic rescinding their recognition of that fake, illegal, and immoral state, and regaining their soul.

> "the government of Kosovo will continue to seek recognition from Spain", and that it hopes for a "swift decision on recognition from Spain and other four EU members which have not done so thus far"

Is more likely that EU recognitions will decrease rather than increase - especially if ICJ rules against K-albanian UDI.
