Serbs in Metohija villages without electricity

The Metohija villages of Osojane, Šainovica, Tučep and Kos, inhabited by Serb returnees, have been without electric power for the past three weeks.

"Mihajlo Ljubić from Suvi Lukavac said that these villages have been cut off since March 3, and that the Kosovo company in charge of electrical power distribution, KEK, continues to insist that the Serb returnees to the Metohija villages should pay EUR 200 on a monthly basis, a sum that they cannot afford."

Soon these Serbs will have no choice but to part with their bodily organs in lieu of cash! There will be a new yellow house run by the KEK in the midst of Kosovo!

Mr. Tadic, how much more do Serbs in Kosovo have to bear?
While you are sitting in your nice office and home the Serbs of Kosovo are paying the price for your inaction.
Why don't you move to Kosovo and live like them for at least a week and see how you go. Shame on you. Do something to help these people. What are you good for if not to serve the people of your country?

Either recognize Kosovo or fight for it. One or the other. No sitting on the fence. Either protect your people of hand in your resigntion.

USA, we don't have to pay 200 EUR a month 'cause we don't have debts, so we pay the normal monthly charge!

Does it answer your question?

So stop complaining, it's a done deal, "pay to play the game"!

dont you people understand that the serbs are not paying the bills thats why they dont have electricity. they think that they can politicise this issue buy making the kosovo goverment look like they are discriminating against serbs.

no one in kosovo pays 200 euros a month. That is a complete lie. maybe they have to pay 200 euros to get their electricity back on because they havent paind in months if not years.

This small enclave in the municipality of Istok has 900 serbs, according to the article. In 1961 we had 12,500 Serbs and Montenegrins in Istok. The numbers speak for themselves, this denial of electricity is yet another step in this cultural genocide that is being committed against the serbs.

200 Euros a month? I live in the US in a large house and pay about the same for natural gas and electricity! My question would be, is everyone in Kosovo charged the same?? I highly doubt it. This is a perfect example of more attempts to drive the Serbian population out of Kosovo. Consider this: if everyone is treated the same, then why aren't Kosovo Albanians complaining about the cost of electricity? If treatment of all citizens was equal, then this issue would not be on the forefront at the moment. This approach by the Albanians will in no way help diffuse the growing instability in Kosovo.

The boy that cried wolf. Pardon me for not believing a word they say. Those "Serbian local leaders" have used excuse after excuse, now they say that the amount is the problem. It sucks to be them, Serbia left them in the cold --no jobs, no pensions even after they told them to stop working for the "temporary institutions".
