Alban you must admit you were completely wrong on the KLA terror list. Frankly I'm surprised you didn't know.

You are also wrong about the Serbian economy picking figures from out of the sky.

You are also wrong about EU connecting consequences of world economic crisis with recognition of Kosovo. It is not in the EU interest to see the region destabilised. As you know there are plenty of EU owned banks operating in Serbia. Do you think that the EU would want to encourage policies that will see those banks going bust?

I think it might be better for you to start thinking about the effect this crisis will have on Kosovo and to what degree.

"-- Are you ignorant by choice, or is this just an unfortunate side-effect of Albanian groupthink?"

I ask you the same: the links you posted are nothing, Bisset just claims so (no proof) and the start.umd.edu shows that it is /was not in any lists. Only that that Clinton officials said so (something I admitted).

Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO): No
Terrorist Exclusion List (TEL): No
UK Proscribed Group: No
Australia Specified Group: No
Canada Specified Group: No
EU Specified Group: No
Russia Specified Group: No

Anyway, a "terrorist" is someone that takes guns against the state. Depending on the state, it maybe commendable. The English called the Americans "terrorists" a while back and so on.

Ahem:

"In 1998, the U.S. State Department listed the KLA as a terrorist organization."

Not a penny unless you accept Kosova's products and behave 'constructively.' (Alban, 24 March 2009 13:04)

I didn't know the Albanians have a saying on how the EU will dispense with their money.

>> "Do you see any consequences for those estimated 100,000 illegal workers - Kosovo Albanians, Macedonians, Bulgarians - illegally employed all over Serbia, as well?"

Haha! Serbia is a third world country with 30% unemployment, 300-400 EUR average a month for those lucky enough to have a job and everyone is rushing there illegally?

The point or Serbia: don't bite the hand that feeds you. You need EU /IMF yet you keep insulting them and working against their advice /interests in Kosova and Bosnia.

Please, Alban, explain to the forum what you think it happens when a country goes bankrupt?
Do you see any consequences for those estimated 100,000 illegal workers - Kosovo Albanians, Macedonians, Bulgarians - illegally employed all over Serbia, as well?
I suppose, tightening the belts didn't help them at their homes when they had to come to such a horrible, despised place like Serbia is. I personally believe that facing the state bankruptcy would make many Serbians less picky about the type of jobs.
I would greatly appreciate your answer.

This government is corrupt or incompetent or both.

The media have reported how there are 28,000 state bureuacrats who cost us 3.5 billion euros, 10% of GDP [25 of the budget]. Given that only 5,000-14,000 are necessary and the budget for the work of their departments is at least twice what it should be the government should automatically do the right thing and fire them and get rid of all unnecessary work. Hoenstly, sure unemployment might go up but the benefits of opening up 1.75 billion euros [nearly the same amount requested from the IMF] far outweighs the losses.

Not only that but I think the government should look at taking a loan from Russia. The DSS has claimed 6 billion could be obtained from them. Not a bad idea if the terms of the loan are better then those the IMF provides.

Alban

"I am not familiar with Serbia's budgetary and BOP situation."

Bankruptcy unless EU /IMF pours money in. Serbia needs $8 billion this year, and in USD or EUR, tighten the belt all you want, they have to borrow so Jeremic's insults to US /EU members will come back to haunt Serbia.

I am not familiar with Serbia's budgetary and BOP situation. But Belgrade should seriously consider biting the bullet, ie, undergo financial hardship now if required. Rather than continue to borrow from others. Nothing is free and the interest payment must eventually take a toll on the Serbian economy. Take a cue from the reckless mistakes of the world's biggest debtor the US. It is on the verge of a financial Armageddon and its biggest creditor, of all people, COMMUNIST China! Abraham Lincoln must be turning in his grave!
