Ataman you are always worth reading..your comment are always funny and often on the point ...anyway it's 3 years that MR.F.G. goes to brussels and says that after him there will be the "Catastofa "...
He has "cry wolf" for so many times that also the other PM's now are fed up with him..
the future will say when and if Mr.V.U. will be the mini-Duce or something else..

Ataman ...please try to be more objective...Orban is not the devil..and anyway it will be difficult to do worst than Mr.F.G....

Luigi, what I say does paint Orbán in somewhat optimistic and groovy picture than the reality.

At least some of his biographers who know him closely would say that. In the "West" his party is often pictured as some kind of "conservative" one, which is incorrect. A better comparison would be the "Radicals" with Orbán being the Sheshelj, but it is not 100% correct either.

We can easily say, since days of 1944-45, 1947-1953 and 1956, there is no single politician in Hungary who made more damage to the country.

F.G. was incapable to deal with many things, but to his excuse, an opposition like Orbán does paralyze the country. Impotence is a lesser sin than fascism.

What else to say about a Hungarian guy who falls into a deep depression learning, he cannot become the president of USA?

You know what, I cannot become the president of USA either. And I am not depressed ;)

Adrian,

While I obviously have 100% the opposite opinion about János Hunyadi's origin (and on that one it even matches what is being Serbian curriculum) - this is not really the issue here because the importance of it is more of academic nature. ;)

Actually, some Serbian sources do say (you guess!) that he was of Serbian origin.

The case is more difficult than of Gjergj/Georgios Kastrioti(s) because both parents of G.K. are known, but not of HJ.

We have to apologize actually to GK and HJ because they were mentioned under the same topic as Orbán, which is a shame.

You guys are welcome to take Orbán from us, we give you that "gift" for free, just please make sure he is firmly locked up and won't return back very soon. And you also free to take his driver's license, I don't mind if it's for few years.

Mike:

This is precisely the said sticker. I was somewhat incorrect because ONLY RAGISA (Dubrovnik) is not the part of that map, otherwise from Istria to Dalmatia everything. It does not mean, of course that they indirectly do not claim Dubrovnik.

In the fact, some of the followers of László Toroczkai laid a claim even on Kosovo. I did see some proposals to make Kosovo a Hungarian "Gyepü" (empty buffer region on the border). At least, L.T. DID visit Kosovo, who knows, perhaps to look at his future realm... His Kosovo-visit was one of the reasons, Canadians did deny him the entry. But have no idea, what he really did there. I assume, it was somewhat what neither Serbs nor Albanians did like. The guys in his nazi "64 County" movement are really nuts.

Obviously with that sticker you can't drive to Bulgarian seaside (you need to pass either Romania or Serbia), you can't drive to Adriatic (for obvious reasons), you can't drive to Vienna (because the eastern Austria is part of it) and forget about Tatra (100% od Slovakia is firmly "ours").

To say the truth, the Trianon Treaty was a major tragedy like Kosovo is.
But some politicians forget, actually THEY should serve the interests of Hungarian minority, not the OTHER way.

Mike, truth is Orban is making Basescu look like an angel, but as much as some struggle, I am afraid that only economic crisis, energy and some foreign relations would be on the agenda of the autum presidential elections.
"Gigi" Becali's political life is already over.
I think Orban would stick more to other historical figures than Janos Hunyadi, since Iancu de Hunedoara's father was Romanian, so he might not be pure enough for Mr. Orban.
Now that I am thinking, someone should suggest Mr Orban when invading us or whatever, he should use a driver for his car, so that the police won't take his driving licence again for speedriving.

Haha Ataman, you mean these stickers?

I see them around where I live all the time. I think it's supposed to mean one has a healthy appreciation for their Hungarian heritage or something, though I doubt anyone with a Velika Srbija sticker would receive the same understanding :)

But all of Croatia you say? That's pretty bold. I mean I could see Jan Hunyadi standing atop Semlin with a refortified Gardos Tower, but Ragusa? He's going to give Traian "Gigi" Basescu a run for his money in the national populist contest! :)

It was long overdue. He has a lot of ballast to deal with. His own past, that he belongs to the "club" of Hungary's richest (cannot imagine, his hands are clean, this is why some people nickname him "Lopcsány"). And of course his own "record" while leading the country is a dismal.

On the positive side he is 100% ethnic-neutral and his stance on the "USA versus Russia" is very balanced.

Unfortunately the negative did outweigh the positive. But while talking about "negative" - the biggest negative in the country is the opposition, in particular Viktor Orbán, whose nickname is "mini-Duce".

I seriously object the "mini-Duce" statement, it's rather Mussolini who should be called "mini-Orbán". The difference is the size of the country only.

Viktorka is the biggest danger to the country an all it's neighbors.

Some people say, with such opposition like Viktorka, there is barely anyone on Planet who can govern. It is true. Last years were spend how to navigate the waters infested by Orbán, not how to govern. But it's a lame excuse.

What it means:

1) To Serbs: Orbán will certainly win in 2010. He is no friend of anyone, only of Orbán. At this moment he is firmly allied with some of the darkest nationalist forces. We can call him a fascist.

2) To Russians: see 1)

3) To Albanians: Imagine Miloshevic power 10. Viktor Orbán may look like supporting Kosovo UDI, but in the fact, all he supports is Viktor Orbán.

4) To Croatians: remember, Orbán's personal car has a window sticker with Hungary's map embedding 100% of Croatia. It's not a joke, but it's a known fact. Enuf said. Serbia is much luckier than you, "only" 1/4 of Serbia is on his map. Romania is in the middle with 60%. Ukraina is the luckiest one - with roughly 5% "belonging" to Orbán's lala-land.

I am curious, when and how will Orbán invade Ukraina and since the victory is certain - what will he do with so many POW-s. ;)
