Read in between the lines: the US can no longer afford its huge military expenditures abroad.

Iam not sure who is running the show.Is it Obama or Hillary with hubby Bill behind the scenes.
Although Obama's statement seems to mean business it also contains a veiled threat
that unless Iran bows to US terms for engagement it will have serious implications fot that country.
Somehow, i don't think the mullahs will reciprocate.

Notice the Vocabulary of Obama which says nothing on examination.Is he real? Just by mouthing off platitudes isn't a policy.
I personally feel Obama is out of his depth and not quite the great hope the western media said he was going to be.

I can't agree with you any more. Obama has simply been elevated well above his capabilities. His cabinet is nothing more than last weeks' leftovers. His ability and willingness to change has up to now been a fantastic display of lip service. I do not see anyway that this solitary singular man will be able to make and significant changes to the US's forign policy. They've been having a tremendous time dealing with change to the internal policies.
Though I see Obama as a poster boy for the further destabilization the US and the Western system, I would like to see him succeed. I would like to see him walk the walk and change the way the West thinks and acts, internally and towards the rest of the world.
I won't hold my breath though.

Be happy, Obama is not looking for the conflict. The rest is diplomacy language. There is a fine difference between a pretty decent and intelligent mainstream American (whatever good or bad does it mean to you) politician (Obama) and a major criminal probably deserving no less, than hanging on 10 feet rope around his neck (Dubya).

There is a great part of truth what lowe says as well. USA is craving for an other expensive military adventure like fish for a bicycle.
