Russia, RS to strengthen ties

Russia is building some vital national interests in the RS, which they will in the future guard. Should the RS secede in the future, you can guess correctly that Russia will be amongst the first to recognize them. Though remember Medvedev's spheres of influence speech carefully, because this time the RS falls under the Russian economic interest sphere, that they will guard.

Russia will do everything to safeguard its national interests, which Serbia and RS fall under now.

Sechin is probably the closest friend of Putin. Most often he is sent with specific missions gathering Russia's friends once left in difficult positions. Thus he had visited Viet Nam , Cuba , Venezuela ect. His visit is a good sign for all Serbs and a bad sign for their rivals.

Now that the US and EU are so sick with the crisis and the wars they launch worldwide it's the best time to restore our relations with all Serbs regardless to where they now live.

Most of the Russians have never heard of Sbska Kraina or Respublica Srbska. Everything they know is that Serbs are our close people and we must help them in any situation. This feeling is so strong that any good gesture towards Serbia looks here like a PR campaign with a quite predicted result.

This is fantastic news, the more Russian influence in RS the better for Serb people.

Russia has a huge presence in the Balkans. They have a large influence in Serbia, Montenegro, and that now will only build in the RS. This is great news for Serbs even for the Bosniaks and Croats in the Federation.

If Republika Srpska eventually secedes from the rest of Bosnia the west will scream about as loud as they did when Russia bloodied the nose of Saakashvili but that will be the extent of it.It is silly to think that in 10 years time Serbian Muslims(Bosniacs)are more important to the future of Europe than Russia is.However,I do urge my Serbian friends to negotiate good terms for themselves because the Russians are excellent businessmen and they have their profit motive above their so called good feelings toward the Serbs.

Dragan, Russia will milk them like they milked Serbia with NIS (now NIS 'lost' money for the year!!!) USA, UK, Germany, France and Italy will not allow Russia to get anywhere near the Balkans. Russia just wants Georgia and the rest there, not in the Balkans

This is quite an anormal thing. There is (at least it there shouldn’t be) no such a thing like “international relations of the RS”, since RS is not a nation but a sub-national entity of the recognized nation-state of Bosnia-Herzegovina, according to the Dayton Accords, the EU and the UN.

Dodik’s RS is reaching to Russia maily because Serbia itself trough time is distancing itself from the “Greater Serbia” dream towards EU (and even NATO) integration.

In terms of ideology, RS is closer to the Yugoslavia of the 1990’s than the Serbia of 2000’s.
