uli,
Don't mix EU with US. For EU funds would be a long open debate, but it would be offtopic.
As for US tax money, apart from some minor world known programs, the only US money in Romania were investments in search of profit. On the other hand, I could talk abot my tax money on military contracts with US.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things that the Ro troops acheived in Afganistan, including the only orthodox church in the country

but when someone speaks of twisting hands on Kosovo issue, that someone should start the conversation with Afganistan and Iraq.

i'm so glad that biden is on board with our new administration, as well as hillary and other strong and progressive politicians that are acutely aware of what has gone on in the former YU and are not affected by the usual nationalist propaganda. and i just found out tonight that samantha power is one of the obama advisors, and she is spot-on with her knowledge about the genocide that was "visited" upon bosnia and kosovo/a. it just makes my job a bit easier.

all of these voices of "USA" here that repeat the nationalist propaganda are in no way typical of americans (duh) but surely are typical of the diaspora. it hardly needs to be pointed out.

as for the "greater" issue, it is the "greater" serbia that has been prevented, thank god, or the promulgation of serbo-slavia, i think that is a more descriptive term.

thank you, chvalah mnoga :))

Fact is that ,, most of your country man have died in Iraq or Afganistan and that is sad but remember that Romania has gotten millions of European and American tax payers money to invest on their own infrastructure and those things go hand in hand.

I believe that Mr.Biden is not telling the truth.

When I grow up I don't want to be like Mr. Biden because I want my children and grandchildren to respect me.
If they were ever to catch me out, as in not having told them the truth, I would have to shoot myself.

Mr. Biden, Europe has promissed you something, but we all know that the west cannot be trusted to deliver on their promises.

In the days of plenty US could not make Greater Albania happen. What makes you think that it can happen now?

We have no true friendship with you. You're expendable to us.
(USA, 11 March 2009 19:37)"

Or how another American (Henry Kissinger) said it so practically: "We have no friends, America only has interests." And Biden, he is just saying things because the Albanian community in the US saw that politics could be bought. I just wonder with the economical crisis if Joe Biden's rate has gone up.

I think it's time Mr. Biden tells us why, approx. 1000 of my fellow country men, have spent almost 8 years in southern Afganistan (quite a few coming home in metal coffins), on my tax money, so that he has the nerve to come now and ask for more. Or approx the same number in Iraq, where, now, Romania has the third largest contingent and where they had to fight against the former members of the Iraqi army that the former US administration decided to disband.
Mr Biden has a lot to sort out until we reach the KFOR situation. Up to me, Romanians in KFOR should come home tonight.

Yes Biden. Time to reunite Europe and have Greece, Romania and Slovaki to regognize Independence of Kosova ASAP. Cyprus and Spain will follow right after.
(uli, 11 March 2009 16:42)

That's OK, but first you need to explain to most Americans few key things:

1) what is the difference between Slovakia and Slovenia
2) there is no country of "hungry people" in north of Serbia
3) Budapest and Bucharest are different cities.

If 1)-3) are accomplished, you are perfectly fine. Because to convert all Serbs to become Albanians and all Armenians to become Turks is an easier task.
