I agree Peter, of course. This was a nice gesture and maybe it came probably straight from Ms. Clinton. Fortunately with all issues/complains I have with both sides (i.e. Clinton / Obama / Putin) none of them can reach the lows of Dshorshy Dubya / Dick Cheney duo. So it's a good start.

But Ms. Clinton' job is not to master Russian/Swahili/Chinese language. She is depending on countless aides and they have to make sure no wild boar is served on a dinner with Palestinian/Israeli delegation. How these aides are chosen and how they misunderstand Albanian / Serbian / Russian issues can be a wild guess.

Probably many things which are ballast on American - Serbian relationship are merely due ignorance.

Regarding the governmental job: LOL, as you notice I am very much a POLITICALLY INCORRECT guy. Zero chances to get hired and if yes, I probably would sustain such environment for few days only.

I saw this yesterday on RT and at first I started laughing really hard and then I realized that it's actually really sad and not something one should laugh about! How can this happen at this level?

On the other hand, I have to admit that it was a nice gesture and a good, fresh start, given the souring of relations after the Georgia War. Better that relations are at least cordial in these difficult times, though granted, the US could have put a tad more effort in to make this gesture better.

I think there is a good career opportunity open for you in the White House, Ataman, hehehe, if they need someone who speaks Polish, please let me know ASAP ;)

Yep, Mike. Next time on a peace mission to the Middle East they will serve some wild boar on the dinner with Israeli and Palestinian delegation.

It will be probably a kosher/halal wild boar.

"What concerns me is that Department of State cannot hire people who can do that small job correctly. Idiots. And we depend on them. It's not a small gaffle - but a sign of serious problems.
(Ataman, 7 March 2009 22:36) "

My gripe for years. If we can't even speak the #%#@*!? language of the region we're trying to civilize, what gives anyone the idea we know what we're talking about? Sadly, being well versed in global affairs these days in the State Department means reading Kaplan and Huntington.

B92 could maybe relay on better sources than CNN-dot-com regarding the correct interpretation and translation.

The reason I am saying this is, Ms. Clinton presented the button with the word "перегрузка" which is not "overcharge", it is rather "overloading". Literally, loading = "грузить", and the "пере" prefix means "over".

The translation "перегрузка" = "overcharge" is somewhat incorrect, too. "Overcharge" is rather "перезаряд" (not to confuse with "перезарядка"!). In other words: if we have "перегрузка батареи" than it's time to act ASAP and do not overload the accumulator. If we have "перезаряд батареи" - we probably sustained a $70 damage and time to buy a new accumulator. But "перезарядка батареи" means the accumulator is being merely in the process of re-charging.

The original linguistic task was much easier. Surprise: "reset button" is just "кнопка ресета". Just copy-paste that phrase into google or yandex.ru and see the 40,200 "hits" in google and 134000 pages in Yandex.
