A modern anti-discrimination bill should be a no-brainer. Most importantly regarding workplaces.

In the Silicon Valley it is not unusual to see teams with people coming from "opposite" directions (Iranians/Israelis, Japanese/Koreans, South Slavic/Greeks/Turks and so on). I did see many and the success/failure of the projects never has anything to do with the ethnic background. OK, we often joke and tease each other during the lunch break, but I guess, it's allowed as long as we know what all it is about.

So anti-discrimination DOES work on the practice. I don't care less, are my colleagues Serbs or Albanians as long as they are doing things OK and are not social/moral wrecks.

What's the point, of passing legislation other then for sycophants to please the EU.

There's no point to this, since the issue should be dealt with the courts.

An even better querstion is, why exactly shopuld we pass an anti-discrimination bill to please the EU when it seems EU members aren't doing this.
- The best example is Italy where graffiti calling for the murder of immigrants is wide-spread and where there is rampant anti-immigrant violence especially against Africans in south Italy.
- Look at France and the riots that occured because of French treatment of immigrants.

Honestly? Serbia instead of passing this bill, they should be asking "Why should we pass thios when there is such obvious and rampant discrimination in the EU?"

Why does this government allow itself to be the focus of so many scandals?

Say what you like about Zoran Djindjic (and I frequently did say nasty things about the way he governed) but at least he got things done.

Sorry, but its takes more than one man from the church to reverse or force the re-considering of an entire bill / law, or rather it should.

It seems to me that its almost as if there is a concerted, but unofficial, effort by some to prevent new legislation being passed. They will go to any lengths to do this.

It would seem that the only answer to this is to drive forward with legislation with twice the determination. The alternative is to pussy foot around, which has been the hallmark of this government so far.

I feel a little foolish for not understanding the Djindjic approach at the time.
