Ratko I support the fair trial of those suspected of war crimes.

By your rationale I could ask you whether you support the releasing of Kosovo Albanians suspected of comitting war crimes against Serbs, if they are caught by EULEX?

Yours is just a position or 'stav' mine is the realistic approach.

I wouldn't have been so optimistic as all posters above. Lets stick to the numbers again: It took 5 month to prosecute one case. How many cases are there in Kosovo? I think not less then 1000. 1000x5=5000month=416 years. Are you kidding me?
This is purely show case, not a real justice.

Never mind trying to manipulate statistics and world opinion with insignificant tiny little fish. "SHOW US THE BEEF", you self-admited cowards and hypocrites! Euro rep. from Hungary admiting and confessing to an US rep. on the subject of Kosovo Albanians. " We are affraid of them." So Serbia has to defend Kosovo again on her own, like in 1389, because of Western Europe's cowardice and animosity towards Orthodoxy. That's never been a well kept secret, almost every Christian Orthodox knows Vatican's policy and views towards them, and it's living proof once again of Vatican's and Western Europe's treatment and policy towards the Orhodox Christians. All one needs to do is reflect or read-up on the involvement of the Vatican and Germany regarding Croatia, both ww2 era and aspecially now, but first one should be ready to vomit.

This guy is clearly not guilty.

He fell backwards on to the other guy's loaded gun that went of accidentally.

It is the fault of the Serbs though because they actually exist and have no rights to be there either.

LOL!

Nice to see you support KiM but at the same time you support eulex? A mission which is trying to implement ahtisari plan? A plan which Serbia threw in the garbage along with Mr. Putin.

Right, even though I support Kosovo remaining within Serbia I welcome this court if it can do its job properly. I didn't follow the case but most of us are familiar with how difficult Kosovo is to govern and how hard it is to bring criminals to justice because of widespread fear of certain influential figures.

That fear extended to internationals based in Pristina. But lets not get negative for once and accept this as a positive devlopment in bringing suspected war criminals to justice.

I hope Kosovo Albanian media reports on this too. Its important for two reasons, one factually there is no such thing as victim by ethnic group (it will make some Albanians realise that its not as simple as Serb = evil and Albanian = saint, two the only way Kosovo Albanians will be able to move towards development will be to put the victim mentality behind them. I mean this most genuinely.

Probably 17 years is a bit to strong - he maybe would get away in Central Europe with lower two digits like 12-15. But in Western Europe AFAIK it's somewhat more. I am not great supporter of double-digit terms unless the case is really horrible (like murder with rape, etc. which is asking for 20+ of course)

But it could be a good start, seem to be a fair judgement - let's see how it follows.

Good way to start. Put a criminal behind bars even though the crime occurred more than 10 years ago. A criminal is a criminal, nationalities don't matter. This is how slowly but surely law and order will spread throughout Kosovo.

nice proof that terrorists from kla used civilians as cover-shield regulary.

something they have in common with brothers from hamas but forbidden by the geneva convention in the civilized part of the world, and the true reason for the ordinary anti-terrorists police-operations in 1998 and 1999 being so bloody.

but the civilized world knew that already, and doesn´t need pseudo-law-enforcment of the terrorists mentors and brothers in spirit ....

Albanian vs Albanian........ Well, it's a start. I'll be more impressed when I see the results of a case of an Albanian committing a crime against a Serb. Time will tell...

A kosovo albanian warcriminal! Nooooo! You don't say! I thought all albanians were war heroes and innocent? I think Milosevic is behind this. Damn him! I thought he was dead?
