I have to say that the balkanisation of Croatia (or Slovenia) has the taste of just deserts to it.

It would be fitting and logical if the regions of those former republics that demanded independence, begun calling for increased autonomy from Zagreb and Ljubljana.

This may not be exactly whats going on here, but we have seen politicians with some wild ideas and a poor political atmosphere before and we know how that ended.
