"Kovačević case used to discredit MFA"

Claims that someone from Belgrade ordered the issuance of travel documents to Miladin Kovačević are completely false, claims Borislav Stefanović.

No one from the Foreign Ministry called Milošević to order that, claims Stefanović.

What does this 'evidence' prove? Does it prove, that the SRB Embassy is not connected to the web? Does it prove, that Serbian officials are not in posession of mobile phones? Or is it just a prove, that Mr. Jeremic is'nt the superior of Serbian embassies at all?

What is interesting, when US citizens commit crimes in foreign countries, they are safely sneaked out of the country back to US, when they evade any justice at all. And these crimes could be much worse than bar brawl - e.g. US diplomat who was driving drunk and hit a man in Vladivostok, Russia - was instantly sneaked back to US. The victim is committed to wheelchair for the rest of his life, and his lawyers tried to sue State Department in US for compensation. If only the victim was the US citizen, the compensation could amount to millions of dollars. But, as the victim was just some poor Russian who was crippled by noble US diplomat, State Department refused to pay. Probably, diplomat wasc on the mission, to bring peace, justice and democracy to those russina barbarians...and poor guy, crippled in process of spreading the freedom was just an acceptable "collateral damage".
Another example - Us guard shooting Kirgyz truck driver to death on mere suspicion that driver is armed...later they found driver was unarmed, though. Soldier is sneaked to US, Kyrgiz government asked many times for justices to be served - Kirgyz people held long protests...never reported by "fair and just" Western media of course - but Pentagon flatly refused. BTW, this is one of the reasons, why Kirgyz government refused to continue renting Manas air base to US. but again, it was Russia to blame of course...These are just 2 examples, coming to my mind.
I am sure that list can continued almost indefinitely. It is US policies that US citizen cannot be judged anywhere else but in its home country.

Yet it is US State Department has an audacity to require from Serbs something completely opposite to their own policies. What a bunch of hypocrites !

I think, Serbs should stand protest in front of US Embassy showing faces of US citizens who committed crimes in foreign countries and to whom justice was never served.

I understand the surplus of Mr. Stefanovic's loyalty: he is holding a key position in the Foreign Ministry and is directly subject to His Master's grace. It may have slipped Mr. Stefanovic's mind that Boris Tadic is not only President of the Republic: he is also President of the ruling Democratic Party, the effective Prime Minister, Editor-in-Chief of all media, arbiter in all matters - big and small alike.
Mr. Tadic has also signed the two most disgraceful documents since the end of the second world war: the so-called "Energy agreement" with Russia, which surrenders Serbia's (not only energy) sovereignty to Putin, as well as the so-called "Declaration of Political Reconciliation" with Milosevic's Socialists, presenting to them on a silver plate indulgences for all the crimes they have committed since the 1990s.
These are the results of his policies, and Mr. Stefanovic gets paid to defend them – as does his immediate boss Jeremic and the entire Cabinet.
