It seems like Russia is becoming more interested in the ruin of Kosovar independence than Serbian government itself…

Anyway, Kosovo is much more recognized and internationally supported than Transnistria, Abkhazia or South Ossetia.

That would be true according to your interpretation of the international law, which actually recognises the right of self- determination to the nations based on which the declaration of Kosova’s independence was done.

If the issue that you rise is concerning the missed consensus on independence than I guess your ‘Nostradamus’ predictions will capture Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia too, since they didn’t reached consensus neither- and had war.

Consequently, I understand that you predict a new Serbo/Yugoslavia. Let me disagree with you in this and I am quite comfortable that Slovenians, Croats, Bosnians etc will agree with me and will consider your prediction, hilarious, to put it mildly. Hence, you could maybe ‘recalibrate’ your prediction towards the prediction that Kosova will live at least as much as Slovenia, Croatia etc???

Concerning the bluntly propaganda issue of the burned Serbian Churches in Kosova I wonder if the zoom of your photo camera refuses the Mosques?? or maybe you found out that Kosova exist only after you heard about the Churches in 2004???

However, your argument regarding the violence on Serbian Churches in Kosova in 2004 is a valid argument. Thought, to claim a propensity, a persistent strategy that K-A seek to destroy the Serbian Churches in Kosova you will have to show at least one more example beside the one of 2004. Can you show that??? Go ahead- I am sure you will fail in that.

In other don’t you find quite bizarre the fact that beside the allegedly intention of destroying the Serbian religious heritage in Kosova those same churches have survived for so long even during the Ottoman occupation of Kosova which allegedly (As Serbian propaganda depicts) were supporters of K-A and anti-Christian??? For me it’s just rationally unexplainable- of course using your rationale. With mine it is quite simple- there was never that intention.

Finally, claiming any kind of religious/cultural heritage on a land that is not yours- and it’s not yours because you don’t and never did live there- is simply ridiculous.

The Mediterranean was always the land that was conquering but it was very often and for long time conquered. If Serbs can claim Kosova even that they don’t live there because of some Serbian churches’ there, can the same be acknowledged to Arabs about Sicily??? Sicily is plenty of the Arabic cultural heritages from architecture to the food, moral codes culture in general.

Maybe we could then give the same right to the Arabs about the Andalusia. Your certainly know that the presence of the Arab culture in Andalusia is more than lively and much stronger than the Serbian in Kosova. What do you think????
I will try to make you “life” easier and “switch the sides” should Istanbul be given back to Greeks/Armenians- or the Aegean part of Turkey?? Or maybe the Spanish could claim Napoli and other parts of Italy where their cultural heritage is unquestionable. Maybe than the descendents of Normans can claim chunks of the Mediterranean which is plenty of Norman castles???

Curious to hear you thoughts!

P.S. could you please past my comment on your web-site?? Just for the sake of plurality of opinions???

Mr. Chizov is only an observer at the EU. He has no input nor influence. He is only there to let Russia think that they are still a superpower. Otherwise, Russia may shut off the flow of gas.

lol at all the people who believe that russians really care about how many countries have recognised abkhasia and south ossetia. russian recognition of those "countries" was the diplomatic equivalent of showing up middle finger to the west in response to the kosovo affair. americans on the other hand care about the kosovo project and must be really upset that things are not going as well as planned. i guess they overestimated their own power and the "uncivilised" world (as some albanians here quite racistly call them) knows well what it means when powerful countries don't respect the international law. by recognising abkhazia and south ossetia russians made it clear that what is good for one powerful country is equally good for any other powerful country.

Apart from a shamelessly immoral manner in which Albanians acquired their 'state' out of Serbian Kosovo, it is also naive to believe that they can hold onto it forever.

Russia is defending Serbia's interests in Kosovo more than Belgrade is. Of course all this Kosovo caper was about encircling Russia anyway but its pretty obvious Tadic has given up on Kosovo. Tadic/Belgrade don't realize that the time is ripe with minimal Russian assistance(diplomatic+military supplies) to reclaim the province. NATO cannot complete the circle and will leave its bones in Aghanistan. plus the new Albanian recruits will be doing some dying in Wazaristan and Tora Bora.

The Kosovo project is a dead duck because it is illegal and not based on international law but on the violation of that law. It is a pyrrhic victory for the Albanians as they may think they have won but in actual fact the manner in which they achieved it through lies and terror will come back to haunt them. What has been created out of ethnic cleansing, terror, hatred and denial of basic human rights will not survive the test of time. As I watched many of the 150 Serbian churches and monasteries being destroyed I knew that some time in the not too distant future there will have to be atonement. The spectre of justice denied will forever haunt!

Since the West created something that in reality resembles more of an human zoo (fenced-in areas, barbed wire, 150 destroyed and damaged churches and monasteries, armed escorts, trainers and feeders from all over the EU and the US, organ harvesters, human kidnapers and traders, heroin pushers and smuglers, pimps and prostitutes, rapists, war criminals, Leaders like in motorcycle gangs nicknamed Snake, and even a pizzeria called Hitleri in South Mitrovica with a Nazi theme) than a state, maybe in these hard financial times they can figure out a way to get some of their investment back. Perhaps they can turn Kosovo into an escorted tourist attraction with special packages and low fares for the "special 55 recognizers." The best sellers and the main attractions should be the organ harvesters roaming around free in a specially created and protected environment, and the most scariest event for many EU and US taxpayers ---watching the Snake being hand-fed by it's feeders and handlers. This human tragedy is courtesy of, and brought to us by the decaying and warped minds and ideas of the Colonial West. The ones that never accept responsibilites for themselves but convincingly and conviniently attribute them to God. " If God didn't want them to be slaves or poor or strong... He would've made them different". Like God is really supposed to be this evil, sadistic punisher, and a revengeful judge of his own creation. Very sick and evil minds without a trace of True and Right intent for their fellow human beings! The only things that the West ever protected in history is their greedy appetites and their huge egos. They don't even care about their own innocent children-they ship them all over the world to kill other peoples innocent children. And when their children come back traumatized and seek help, they are called criminals by their government and threatened with criminal action for faking their illness and trying to extort compensation from their government--- like they did in the US after the Gulf War. And now the West has brought the whole world down financially just so they can freeze the status quo and buy a little more time from their inevitable loss of power and influence in the world. They are going down fighting though, hence all the wars that they are fighting and loosing, hence all the International Laws, Agreements, and norms that they have trampled on, hence their bullying, threatening, and "arm twisting tactics" of poor and weak nations,(Biden in Romania on NATO, Albight in Rambouillet)and hence their NATO expansion and their desperate instalations of radars and misles all over the globe. If allowed they would take the whole world down with them rather than give up the remaining power and influence that they still possess. Their dam is got too many leaks and is beyond repair. Time for their few "friends" to start learning Russian, Chinese, and Hindu, and learn how to swim on their own,or build an ark, cause "high water is rising."

Everyone knows why nobody has recognised S.O and Abkhazia - Everyone is waiting to see how Kosovo plays out first. If it gains independence then I expect a flood of countries to recognise S.O and Abkhazia, but that's a side issue.

The longer Kosovo remains in it's current situation the less likely it will ever gain formal recognition as an independent state. For all the talk about a HUGE number of recognitions, they simply haven't materialised. That says it all. Many countries, even with all the diplomatic pressure being aplied by the US and EU, would prefer to wait for the ICJ ruling. That action speaks for itself about the world's perception of US power now.

The longer this affair drags out, the better it is for Serbia. Even staunch allies of the US, like Japan, are openly stating that they won't follow US policy blindly, that there is a new order in the world - multilateralism. The longer the Kosovo issue plays out, the stronger the effects of multilateralism and the weaker the Albanian position. Even better when countries such as China, whom the US needs so much to finance it's deficit (that's right Mrs Clinton, say thankyou to the Chinese for their help), staunchly refuse to recognise Kosovo. It's very subtle, but the supertanker called Kosovo independence and recognition is gradually slowing down and will eventually move into reverse.
Congratulations on your victory Serbia and commiserations to the Albanians - It was a valiant effort but unfortunately you didn't provide a knock out blow, so now it's checkmate to Serbia.

“I think that the first anniversary of the unilateral declaration of Kosovo independence is a time to analyze what has come to pass in the last year. No-one can claim that this project has been an overwhelming success. And all this is illustrated by the situation on the ground. Not to mention the conditions that the Kosovo Serbs are living in,“ said Chizhov.
I disagree with comments on Albanians camp. What Chizhov said is relatively true. Kosovo Independence was not huge success if you look it in one year perspective; however is not “dead duck” as some said.
It could have been better for region that Serbia has an understanding stance toward Kosovo and people of Kosovo. Doing so, it will contribute stability of trouble Balkan and the whole region would be able to integrate in EU.

Who cares.... what’s More important is how Serbia, (even if Kosova was within Serbia) could make it a success for all people and financially viable as an autonumas state. Without being a burden to the citizens of Serbia and divert its resources to a black hole and no return as you say. You couldn’t do it in the years that kosova was in Yugoslavia and what makes you think after all that murderous campaign you can do it now and you haven’t even apologised yet for the Milosevic years (how many Serbian ministers have visited kosova since Milosevic to see the devastation that had taken place amongst the people including Albanians) And we all know the answer to that whether your Serb or Albanian and like it or not, there is no reconciliation from Serbia other than to divide the people of kosova and keep it a black hole

The UN is not faultless but it is by far the best Authority we have. It is the collective conscience of 193 Member States.
If 23 EU members, the USA, and over two dozen other 'pressured states' think that they are some kind of New World Authority, then they are sadly mistaken.

The situation regarding the illegally declared independence of the Southern Serbian province of Kosovo i Metohija has to be rectified soon.

How phony can a man and a state become? By the same standard, South Ossetia and Abkhazia are complete and utter failures after about 20 years of "independence" and recognition from a grand total of two (2) countries. Really, Mr. Chizhov: If South Ossetia and Abkhazia had raked up 55 recognitions by now, you would be beside yourself with joy. But when it'a Kosovo, it's supposedly a failure. The US/EU 'consortium',which is primarily responsible for what I term 'the Kosovo Tragedy',cannot bear to admit that their 'project for Kosovo' has been a total catastrophy.
In January, I attended the BBC Intelligece Squared Debate in London where the motion was; 'The UN is terminally paralysed; the Democratic World needs a forum of its own'. After the debate, the vast majority of the 800 plus audience voted a resounding NO to the motion. (Thank Goodness)

Time for their few "friends" to start learning Russian, Chinese, and Hindu, and learn how to swim on their own,or build an ark, cause "high water is rising."

sunny, you are completely wrong. The economy of the people living in Kosovo is not what is most important. Priority number 1, 2 and 3 is to find a legal solution for Kosovo. Whitout a legal ground to stand on there is nothing. First legality, then it will be easy to cooperate and start to solve the everyday problems of the people in Kosovo.

Radoslav

pre 15 godina

Congratulations on your victory Serbia and commiserations to the Albanians - It was a valiant effort but unfortunately you didn't provide a knock out blow, so now it's checkmate to Serbia.

lol at all the people who believe that russians really care about how many countries have recognised abkhasia and south ossetia. russian recognition of those "countries" was the diplomatic equivalent of showing up middle finger to the west in response to the kosovo affair. americans on the other hand care about the kosovo project and must be really upset that things are not going as well as planned. i guess they overestimated their own power and the "uncivilised" world (as some albanians here quite racistly call them) knows well what it means when powerful countries don't respect the international law. by recognising abkhazia and south ossetia russians made it clear that what is good for one powerful country is equally good for any other powerful country.
