investigative journalism? you must be kiddin us kiddies here. the rag was used. one embassy gave information to one small opposition party who gave it to the rag. the embassy wanted to undermined this country's foreign minister on a very unrelated matter. its murk and sleaze all over this story. all over.

and it's got nothing to do with that kovacevic character. if this government has any backbone which it doesnt but lets say if it does, there will be indictments for treason here. enough of mysterious leaks to servile media already.

"The government insists that the corresponding state organs determine the criminal responsibility of all persons suspected of breaking the law."
In a true democracy that's the job of a court!
Kovacevic's lawyer should sue the state for hampering his defense!

Kudos to the editorial team at Borba which has shown its possible to write a story in the public interest, combine serious issues such as government secrecy, sell more newspapers and gain the respect of journalists and media watchers alike because of it.

Shame on most of the Serbian media for not publishing more stories like these and not seeing how investigative journalism can also sell copy.

I had already noticed the return of Borba to Belgrade's newstands and have bought a number of copies in the last month since it has returned.

They can count on my support over the coming months and I'll even turn a blind eye (for now) to the fact that 'Cane' Subotic may be part owner of the paper.
