"Tuđman would have ended up in Hague"

Former United States Ambassador Peter Galbraith is a bad historian.Your World War One allies, the Americans and the British -- Galbraith is an American Scot -- tried to exterminate twice the Croats, once in Austria at the end of World War Two -- 500,000 Croats died -- and then in the 1990s at the United Nations Security Council -- 150,000 Catholic and Islamic Croats died.

Peter Galbraith accuses Tudjamn of War Crimes. Where were those crimes committed? The Serbs from Knin left on the orders of the Krajina leadership. Those that got killed during operation storm were Serbs who bravely stayed and tried to defend their homes while Martic and others left for Banja Luka sipping Champagne. There are always civilians caught in the cross fire-that is natural. When a minority disrupts the security and good order of a recognised country the president has to act. On many occassions Tudjman offered the local Serbs autonomy which they flately refused. Maybe Galbraith should focus on the ill treatment of Guantanamo bay & Afghanistan by his beloved Americans. Once again we have so called experts trying to throw there opinion in balkan affairs, something they know nothing about.

This is very rich for Galbraith to claim that a 'Regime' stood back & did nothing to stop Murder & Burning. Who will the Bush Administration answer to regarding the deaths in the Middle East?

Firstly, it's easy to claim something you don't have to prove. There were over 4 years after Operation Storm until his death and they did nothing.
Second, Galbraith was riding on a Croatian tank and celebrating the ethnic cleansing.
Third, he is downplaying the numbers of Serbs killed during Operation Storm and the aftermath to a "handfull".
UN reports say they were still finding several freshly killed elderly Serbs per week in October - and that this was actually a notably lower amount than what was occurring/found in the first few weeks (August, September).
And a UN witness told me she estimated that 5,000-7,000 Serbs were killed in Operation Storm and the aftermath (which lasted for several weeks).
There was no pressure on the Croats to look for bodies or prevent them from doing what they wanted. And the searches for dead or relatively very light compared to Bosnia.

RE: Ante Gotovina is innocent

Words from US ambassador Peter Galbreath is too little to late. General Ante Gotovina did all in his capacity to limit civilian losses, lower level officers, vigilante's and para-military groups committed gross crimes against the Serb civilians.

Where are those leaders of those paramilitary groups-Paraga in B&H and the rest to face justice.

Part of the reason Krajina declared a republic was the Croatian fascist policies enacted by Franjo Tudjman who even had former Ustase officials in his government.
