Thanks God! You don´t run Serbia´s foreign policy. Such absurdity would lead Serbia and their neighbours to a7 total distruction.

It would be pitty though, Ballkans is the most colorful part of Europe.

You better thank god I'm not FM for Serbia, you and your Albanian Colleges from the puppet government you call Kosova.

You would all be in jail for your Alkida and Teliban Connections.

As I said "It should not be on Serbian land in the first place" they should have put Bonsteel in Albania, where it belongs just like you and you colleges.

with suggestions like that, Mr. Touchy doesn´t contribute to the mutual understanding among us serbian citizens of several ethnic backgrounds...

but that´s what we all should do, since we all live in Serbia...

let´s just see what future brings, my dear friends!

What are you fellow Serbs getting all worked up about? If the KLA provinical government arrested Tadic they would be doing us a favour. He has practically recognised Kosovo anyway by placing EU membership as a top foreign policy objective. The decision will be to Serbia - Kosovo or EU. Sadly Belgrade will pick the EU and our brightest will like (someone else here on b92 wrote) go clean toilets in western europe.

Demi, "There is no patience for serbian criminals trying to enter Kosovo"
This has gone too far, Serbs from the Start should not have tried to Negotiate with Terrorists and give them autonomy. Serbs should have followed the words of the former US President Gorge W Bush, "Your with us or agents us"

C, "Kosovo and Albania will soon establish a common economic market - and with a 6 million Albanian population spread in two states, it will prove a very serious counter-weight to the Serb political and military hegemony"
I think you are referring to what every Albanian is calling a lie made up by Serbians, It's called Grater Albania, maybe you should fix the Albania you already have first, then it might not be so bad to live there.

Luan, "KLA poorly armed with AK47"
What Movie are you watching? What about the millions and millions of dollars from Prostitution, People smuggling, organ trafficking, Heroin, Alkida and the Teliban? I'm sure that money bought more than just AK47, by the way which politicians did you pay first? I think the rounds of payment are coming up. But I don't think you have enough this time to pay them all.

Unfortunately your comment is very incoherant and and makes little to no sense.

If you are refering to SFRJ you have little understanding since most Croatians and Bosniaks will agree with me when I say we all did it to each other because a bone was thrown between us by Western powers in order to destroy one of the most powerfull countries in Europe to make space for the expansion of Germany and the reduction in influence of Russia.

As far as Kosovo and Metohija is concerned Milosovic claimed that he could destroy the KLA in a matter of months and so he would have done had it not been for NATO.

I would also suggest you not to meddle in political situation such as Operation storm since your understanding is poor judging from your comment.

We are not all equal in the Balkan my friend, the Greeks are highly prosperous as are the Turks and the Ex-Yugoslavian nations are slowing each other down, there can be little prosperity unless these nations cooperate which im sure will happen in the future. In regard to Albania it is doing the same as it has always done throughout history and that is changing it's face to accomodate for the great power of the time in order to recieve hand outs and the possibility of gaining some land of it's own with supervision; we have seen this when the Ottomans came, converted to Islam; when the Nazi's came, became fascists and now finally you are my favourite and most ambigous of political terms "Democratic" within the US.

Nothing new here same old story, but remember nothing lasts forever.

Luan

pre 15 godina

Vuk,

I really love your point of view about coming back to Kosovo.
One explanation:
I think the reason why Serbia was a major Balkan player is because Russia was the big guy, like NATO is now for Albanians. Russia still is a big guy, but looks like not as big as NATO is. You should accept that in a cunning way you got a control over ex-Yugoslavia’s army, and used it to do all wars. With all that power you had you lose everything because you overestimated yourself.
Unfortunately you are unable to understand that there is a huge, very huge political change in region. Russian support which you had for centuries recently was not sufficient to achieve your dreams. I do not think a better future in this sense is coming for you.
On the other hand, we know how brave Serbian soldier were hiding behind ex-Yugoslavian 100 tanks and artillery during offensive in Kosovo fighting against KLA poorly armed with AK47. Serbs looks like did not see the real face of the death in the war, or when they saw that they lose the war. Why you did not protect Serbs in Croatia when Croatian Army becomes almost equal with yours???
You should understand you are not special in Balkans, all the people of Balkan are the same, and the most common thing is the hate they have for each other, which is a good tool others can use when want to make conflict in Balkan. We should start to think in different way. Probably there is way we can stat to love each other instead of hate.
Let people think for their future not politicians. USA becomes a great country when they understood that black people are just people and should live their life like other people do.

Thaci speaks empty words. I'd bet anything that if Tadic were to cross into the southern province Kosovo to visit Serbian citizens, Thaci would do nothing at all. He can't do anything without EU or UN approval. If he were to act unilaterally, he'd lose everything. Kosovo only exists today as a so called independent entity because of US support. Kosovo couldn't do anything at all without US aid. In fact, when it tried to act alone (1990s), the results were bad. Now, America has no taste for war except for the war in Afghanistan. Kosovo is so low on the US radar that it never gets mentioned in any foreign affairs briefing, even with Hillary as the secretary of state. So, I'd stop making senseless threats and proclamations such as Russia will recognize Kosovo's independence Hasim and focus on your own personal issues.

'Yesterday, Beta news agency reported that RTK, a television outlet in Priština, quoted its international community sources who said that it was Brussels who suggested to the Kosovo Albanian authorities that they should introduce the ban on Serbian officials.'

Whether this is true or not, it does show the absolutely disgraceful behaviour by those responsible in Brussels.
To even contemplate that Serbian politicians might be prevented from entering a Southern province of their country is a horrifying thought.
Brussels must realise that Kosovo i Metohija is a UN administered region of Serbia. (UN Resolution 1244)

Brussels is doing itself no favours by repeatingly ignoring and even insulting the UN.

Listenng to these Albanians talk about law and justice and how Serbia should forget about Kosmet just shows to me that they are afraid and insecure about Kosmet. The sooner the Americans leave the sooner Serbia can return her land and real negotiations with pragmatic Albanians can start. The vibrtions coming from Phristina seem to be desperation and fear.

I love this typical Albanian "bravery" of giving threats while hiding behind the US and KFOR. And who is going to arrest Tadic? Of course not Thaci, it will have to be NATO that produced the so-called Kosovo independence.
The Albanians didn't ask the Serbs for independence so Tadic should completely ignore their threats. He should go to Kosovo today, along with the 200.000 Serbs ethnically cleansed from the ptovince. On the other hand, Thaci, Ceku and other UCK terrorists, make sure that you are far away from Serbian law because of the blood on your hands...

Interesting post i will give you that much but my comment still stands and i will now explain why;

Serbia will not impose it's will on the people of Kosovo be they Albanians or anything else, it will impose the rule of law and that at this moment in time is that Kosovo is Serbia, regardless of the US or their 50 or so accomplacies who have chosen to recognise you. That rule will involve the return of our expelled peoples, as for Albanians leaving this will be of their own accord however those who wish not to respect the rule of law and chose to persue sepratism will be punished, any Albanians who wish to call themselves such and thus speak the language etc will be able to if they remain peaceful.

I think that it is deeply hipocritcal again to claim that Serbia will impose on 2 million people when you have imposed on the 450,000 Serbs who lived there prior to the NATO intervention; this resulted in 250,000 leaving.

The US will never leave Kosovo out of choice, it will be forced and I am not going to say by who as I cannot predict but be sure that the US and NATO will fall in the future and when it dose the playing field will be level once more. Wether you think Kosovo and as such Albania will be capable of defending itself remains to be seen, I highly doubt it as Albanians have always been among the poorest and least developed nations in the Balkan and hence Europe.

Rome will always fall, and when it does the proud and the just will truimph.

In case there is any misunderstanding about my previous comment - let me put it this way: NATO would not allow anyone in Kosovo to arrest Tadic. The idea that such as stupid diplomatic bloomer would sustain is ridiculous.

NATO is not there to protect stupid behaviour. Little boy sheltering behind big boy is not guaranteed in such a scenario. I suspect it might be more like big boy gets fed up with little boy and quietly walks away.

Put it another way -Thaci is talking hogwash.

Reamemeber that next time Bogdanovic or Tadic tryes to enter the border to the newly born state Kosovo.

No one broke Yugoslavia except Milosevic and his gang. If Milosevic and his gang were more respectful with others and not say " ya sam ya" it would have been a lot different. The politics of obstruction, wars and nationalism is to blame and Serbian electors should make them explain the truth and only the truth. They must ask their leaders to why are they out of EU, NATO and other organizational buddies? Serbia had a lot of friends around the world to help them be leaders in the Balkans but Serbian Government turned to nationalism (great Serbia) instead of focusing with EU integration. This nationalism is keeping Serbia blinded and its citizens suffering. Forget about Kosovo cuz it's long gone and focus on your future. Look your neighbors around you. Slovenia in NATO and EU, Albania in NATO soon and probably in EU before Serbia, Croatia the same, Montenegro the same and so it Macedonia. Kosovo and Bosnia will take a little longer but probably will be there before Serbia wakes up to the new reality in Europe.
Also, stop those non sense of Serbia invading Kosovo military, its the same as saying; Serbia will invade EU and USA. Remember there is EULEX and Bondstil there.

Vuk

pre 15 godina

Tadic being arrested would prompt world war 3 however this will not happen as neither side is willing to carry out such provocations.

Why do Albanians who live in the southern province of Serbia believe that they will control it forever? Confusing concept especially considering they have achieved control through no work of their own, only through US backing, surely it must occur to people that once the US no longer has an interest in Kosovo then there will be nothing to stop a reformed Serbia in a decade or so marching in with it's military and arresting the appropriate criminals and fasciliating the mass return of Serbs and extradition of all illegal inhabitants.

This scenario which is extremely likely considering the manner in which Albanians have gone about taking over Serbian territory is only being excerbated day by day in some sort of taunting displayed by Kosovo's Albanians.

Serbia is the major Balkan player it is only a matter of time until it's hands become untied, there is a serious danger that Albanians may feel a heavy handed response to their actions which are aggrevating the situation and doing nothing to consolidate relations into something vaguely sustainable in the future once the playing field is leveled.

Its all very primitive and very Balkan.

What I find even more entertaining is that one Serbian official has been banned, but yet Serbia was unable to do anything against this humiliation, and lots of people here in this very forum claimed many times that Serbia in such a terms would take Kosovo over by force?
This fact sheds light of how much Serbia has "power" on Kosovo. It would be the best although, that both come to a sort of agreement for their respective officials, so that they can mutually enter. This would indeed be very practical, Kosovo Albanians could also hold elections in Presevo, Belgrade, Nis, and some other cities in Serbia where there is a considerable number of Albanians living there, as well as see the situation and the satisfaction of their nationals in Serbia.
(Erik (Germany), 22 February 2009 15:47)

The country of Germany was responsible for the break up of Yugoslavia in 1941, and again in 1992 it is primarily responsible for the break up of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

Serbia has not forgotten the Nazi massacres inflicted on school children in Kragujvac, hanging of civilians from lampost to lampost , from railway station to railway station , from Belgrade-NIS-Novi Sad to Zagreb, Mostar, Jayce, Slavonija and the rest.

Foreign Minister Hans Erik Genscher along with then Chanchelloer Kole illegally declared the independance of Slovenia, Croatian and B&H against the Cuieterro Plan and against the then Yugoslav Federal Constitution.

Germany supplied Croatia with arms and tanks along with the US and is complicent in the ethnic cleansing of over 250,000 Serbs from Croatia, never to return again.

Serbia stood up against Nazism in 1941, it is doing it again in 2009.

Need it be reminded that Serbia as a nation in both World I and World II had the most civilian and war casualties of any country per capita to defend its freedom and it will continue to do so at all cost.

Vuk,

Your sabre-rattling is no surprise. We've heard it before.

Please notice two things that your analysis fails to account for.

You find it morally acceptable to let the Serb army march into Kosovo - to impose your will on two million people who did not want to be part of your country. The wishes of two million people do not seem to count in your analysis.

Even more 'remarkable' is your point that it's completely morally acceptable to essentially recolonize Kosovo with sending Serbs massively into Kosovo - and this would be done (according to you) by expelling 'illegal inhabitants.'

You tend to display a rather static dynamics of change in Kosovo, because you naively seem to assume that when the US leaves, Kosovo will not have moved from its 1999 state of affairs.

That's utterly wishful thinking. Why?

When the US leaves, as you assume, Kosovo will have achieved two things. It will have a Kosovo Security Force, the Kosovo Police, and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.

These are three key security institutions which are slowly going to remake the Balkan military geography in the years to come.

But, more importantly - how about the crucial fact that you seem to ignore, that of the fact that Kosovo will be a NATO member before the US leaves, and as things stand, Serbia is against NATO admission.

So, when the US leaves, Kosovo will have been a NATO member. Do you know what happens if a non-NATO member attacks a NATO member?

I do not want to remind you, but you do get my point.

The days when the Balkans history was singularly shaped by the Serb military hegemony are a bit too old fashioned to entertained with such ease, as you do.

Things are more dynamic.

While Serbia will certainly have a crucial role to play in setting the Balkan history in the future (I hope a constructive influence), it will by no means by the only player in the field.

Kosovo and Albania will soon establish a common economic market - and with a 6 million Albanian population spread in two states, it will prove a very serious counter-weight to the Serb political and military hegemony.

First I think Tadic is not such stupid to try to enter without permission, otherwise, I do not think Serbian military troops will be able to do anything. They were in Kosovo and NATO pushed them out. Is not good Idea to dream a solution about Kosovo based on an ultranationalist concept since it is obvious that this is the reason why you lost it. I was thinking that Jeremic is smarter since has a Harvard degree. Anyway, I really appreciate the policy he is following toward EULEX and EU. He is helping us (Albanians of Kosovo) a lot. It is good to make EULEX understand that Kosovo Albanians are with whom they have to cooperate.

"Erik" ("Germany") (#11),

Maybe Germany should openly apologize for all the Nazi war crimes committed against Serbs during WWII, pay compensation for all the destruction and emotional suffering of victims and their survivors and their children/grandchildren, apologize for being actively involved in the break-up of Yugoslavia and supporting Croation facism, for being involved in the NATO aggression against Serbia and for supporting the extrimist Albanian KLA terrorists, and for not showing the ability to keep your big nose out of the Balkans and Serbian internal affairs. Until that time it outrages me that any person from Germany has the guts to criticize Serbia, even though our politicians are making a fool of themselves. What is interesting is that most cities in Serbia where sizable Albanian communities live there is no problem. They can be Albanian, speak the language and so on. There is nothing in the Serbian constitution that mentions that there is some state-sponsored measures or law that would make these people second-class citizens. So keep supporting your Axis allies and hopefully one day you people in Germany will get the same problems with your Turkish minority and then you will understand what it is like to be a tolerant host that is being stabbed in the back.

Erik (Germany)

Desperate times require desperate measures. The so called independence of Kosovo has not gone the way the West and Albanians thougt so this type of measures are not surprising. What people don't know is that this is playing into the hand of the Serbs. Banned from their own homes and territory. Remember, only 54 countries has reluctantly recognized Kosovo independence. What gives Albanians the right to ímpose the will of a few on the majority? These actions will only move the two comunities further appart, which is for the best anyway.

Put it another way -Thaci is talking hogwash.

ng

I love this typical Albanian "bravery" of giving threats while hiding behind the US and KFOR. And who is going to arrest Tadic? Of course not Thaci, it will have to be NATO that produced the so-called Kosovo independence.
The Albanians didn't ask the Serbs for independence so Tadic should completely ignore their threats. He should go to Kosovo today, along with the 200.000 Serbs ethnically cleansed from the ptovince. On the other hand, Thaci, Ceku and other UCK terrorists, make sure that you are far away from Serbian law because of the blood on your hands...

Daniel

pre 15 godina

The politics of obstruction, wars and nationalism is to blame and Serbian electors should make them explain the truth and only the truth. They must ask their leaders to why are they out of EU, NATO and other organizational buddies? Serbia had a lot of friends around the world to help them be leaders in the Balkans but Serbian Government turned to nationalism (great Serbia) instead of focusing with EU integration. This nationalism is keeping Serbia blinded and its citizens suffering. Forget about Kosovo cuz it's long gone and focus on your future. Look your neighbors around you. Interesting post i will give you that much but my comment still stands and i will now explain why;

What people don't know is that this is playing into the hand of the Serbs. Banned from their own homes and territory. Remember, only 54 countries has reluctantly recognized Kosovo independence. C

So keep supporting your Axis allies and hopefully one day you people in Germany will get the same problems with your Turkish minority and then you will understand what it is like to be a tolerant host that is being stabbed in the back.

albanians this is between serbs and eu, you don't have a say for godsakes :)
(smile, 22 February 2009 20:50)

By thinking like that you lost Kosovo. Albanians are everything in Kosovo. We controll Kosovo with our constutuion and our own laws. There is no patience for serbian criminals trying to enter Kosovo without premission from the authoritys in Prishtina.

Reamemeber that next time Bogdanovic or Tadic tryes to enter the border to the newly born state Kosovo.

Vuk

If they arrested Tadic not even NATO would stop a military intervention.
(Bob, 22 February 2009 15:12)

Very irresponsible statement! If Serbia tries to take over Kosovo militarily, it would have to also take a small piece of land in Kosovo called ¨Bonsteel¨.

Luan

pre 15 godina

It seems to me that the time to continue testing the Albanian patiance from Serbia is running out. If Thaci is not welcome in Serbia why should Tadic be welcome in Kosova? Serbian polititians have been warned not to cross the line in Kosova. If they are looking for trouble....that is what they are looking for....!

UNE

pre 15 godina

If I was tadic I would call their bluff. And than I would have the Serbian military go in and try to clean Kosova... OOO wait a second. The military now is myabe half what it used to be. The equipment is old and there is no money. they just paid 1 Million dollars to protect a thug.

This is little more than Hashish talking to his flock for public consumption. I've seen mall cops with more authority than this clown. His statements of late show he's really becoming unhinged, fast. And sadly, there's all too many Albanians who take him seriously.

bganon

I have to agree that this Thaci is showing increasing signs of desperation here in making rather bombastically silly statements.

These words are about as empty as his statement on Russia recognising Kosovo.

How about some real work Thaci, or can't you deliver on real issues?

USA

C,

When the West leaves Kosovo, it will then realize how much effort and money has been wasted in trying to create a country that was doomed to fail from the start. Do you really believe that the criminal, tribal, and power hungry mentality will be useful in promoting the success of a new country? I think not. Time will prove my point. If this forum is still around, I will come back to let you know that I told you so! Good luck, but history is not on your side.

ng

I love this typical Albanian "bravery" of giving threats while hiding behind the US and KFOR. And who is going to arrest Tadic? Of course not Thaci, it will have to be NATO that produced the so-called Kosovo independence.
The Albanians didn't ask the Serbs for independence so Tadic should completely ignore their threats. He should go to Kosovo today, along with the 200.000 Serbs ethnically cleansed from the ptovince. On the other hand, Thaci, Ceku and other UCK terrorists, make sure that you are far away from Serbian law because of the blood on your hands...

Jovan Z

pre 15 godina

Listenng to these Albanians talk about law and justice and how Serbia should forget about Kosmet just shows to me that they are afraid and insecure about Kosmet. The sooner the Americans leave the sooner Serbia can return her land and real negotiations with pragmatic Albanians can start. The vibrtions coming from Phristina seem to be desperation and fear.

Bob

In case there is any misunderstanding about my previous comment - let me put it this way: NATO would not allow anyone in Kosovo to arrest Tadic. The idea that such as stupid diplomatic bloomer would sustain is ridiculous.

NATO is not there to protect stupid behaviour. Little boy sheltering behind big boy is not guaranteed in such a scenario. I suspect it might be more like big boy gets fed up with little boy and quietly walks away.

Put it another way -Thaci is talking hogwash.

Logic

No, buddy Hash did not do it on Brussels suggestion. It was rather on Moskva suggestion after he struck with Medvedev and Putin a secret deal for Russia to recognise "Kosova". May we all live that long to see it!

milan

What are you fellow Serbs getting all worked up about? If the KLA provinical government arrested Tadic they would be doing us a favour. He has practically recognised Kosovo anyway by placing EU membership as a top foreign policy objective. The decision will be to Serbia - Kosovo or EU. Sadly Belgrade will pick the EU and our brightest will like (someone else here on b92 wrote) go clean toilets in western europe.

Robert, "Bonsteel"?
It would not take that long to level it to the ground, It should not be on Serbian land in the first place.
