Of course, as they say "create enough poverty and everyone becomes a criminal".

Serbia has done a great job of impoverishing Kosovo and than it brags about Kosovo's mafia. Just look at the road system in Serbia built with billions from the west and see how many of those kind of roads you find in Kosovo.

There is more. From 1990 to 1999 when Serbia took over governance of Kosovo, the province's exports went from some $280 milion to just $27 milion.

Serbia never cared about Kosovo and especially the well being of its inhabitants. It only used Kosovo as source of selfesness and nationaistic dogma, to feed hate and conflict between Serbs and Albanians. And now Tadic continues in this mindset, and try to display Albanians as criminals, while on the other hand wants them to remain citizens of Serbia.

Try as i might i cannot get over this discussion about mafia. yes, the mafia (as i understand it) is plenty powerful throughout the balkans, and probably the world, for a multitude of reasons and with numerous nasty manifestations.

but for tadic to focus on the ALBanian mafia, and then downplay the serbian mafia, is just one sick joke. how long do we have to listen to this baloney and cheese. it is disgusting and an overt attack on an entire ethnic group. he calls his party by the wrong name and needs to change it tomorrow.

albano said a lot but speaking of mafia can anyone tell me how Arkan did all those crimes during 60s, 70s and 80s in former Yugoslavia and the western Europe including bank robbery and murder?. How can someone like him be the closest to the president of Serbia?. Do you think that government of Serbia is still involved with serbian mafia in and outside of the country?.

ICJ will provide an Advisory Opinion which will not be binding. If it leans in favor of Kosovo, then we should expect more recognitions and milder stance from Russia. If it leans against independence, then the recognition process will be quite long.

The mindset that Kosovo's independence can be reversed is wishful thinking. Northern Kosovo will be in state of limbo as long as Kosovo is not a UN member.

" Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, speaking to Austrian daily Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten and Kleine Zeitung, said that Priština would accept the ICJ’s decision.

Touchy, my dear, you will have to obey, there is nothing for you to analyze, since you are no legally recognized official.

Really? So why is Tadic saying that he will not listen to it if it rules for Kosova?

“Only that court’s decision will allow us to enter negotiations about Kosovo’s future status and reach a compromise,” said Tadić, speaking to Reuters. He added that “Serbia will never undertake any action which would imply support of Kosovo’s independence.”

Does he think that whoever read Tadić declaration is brainwashed?
He said that only court’s decision will allow us to enter negotiations about Kosovo’s future status and reach a compromise and add that Serbia will never undertake any actions which would imply support of Kosovo’s independence. So Serbia will never support independence. Then why Kosovo will bother to ender into your conditioned negotiations when Kosovo will never get what it wants even without starting the negotiations. Why bother negotiate? Who gives Tadić the right to set the negotiations limits?
If you declare that court’s decision will allow us to negotiate, why you don’t declare that you will obey the court decision whatever it will be? And if that court decision is against independence then you can declare that “we will enter negotiation but will not support anything lead to independence because we will obey the court decision.
What if court decision is pro independence or gray decision? Are you going to obey the court decision? If not, why ask other side to do the same?

Western diplomats are not that stupid Mr. Tadić that’s why they gave OK to Kosovo to their Coordinated Declaration Independence.
I am curious to know, when he speak nonsense in Beograd TV, do people laugh or at least smile with those nonsense?

to Albano,

As a serb born in London we get to see your Albanian activity here very often on Crime TV programmes especially on BBC at least 2/3 times each year, now we Serbs have lived in UK for 60 years and your Albanians have been here 10/15 years and straight away in mid-90's forced sex crimes, drug dealing and weapons sales are the impact of your community. Police have clear evidence of Albanians' crimes and its clear that London's teenage gun crime is linked to easy access to these weapons. Here is a fact, your Albanians got into the UK using our Yugoslav passports, as we know others from Albania itself used forged papers and arrived here as Yugoslav refugee's also during the mid to late 90's.

British Police have records of Albanian criminals in UK jails and all of these were sentenced after crimes of forced sex, rape, forced prostitution, the selling of drugs and weapons. Not 1 serb after 60 years of living here has been or is currently in jail for any of these dispicable crimes, thats a FACT.

Albano - of course there are many mafias including Serbian. In fact the criminal network is about the only place where proper multi ethnic relations are thriving.

George Robertson, (Lord Portly of Concessions or whatever his reward, I mean title, is) must be very proud.

But it is a well-known fact that the Albanian mafia is particularly active thoughout Europe and that Kosovo is major hub for this activity. The reality of human trafficking in particular is horrendous. Forced prostitution of really young girls and women. A sex slave trade in the heart of Europe - much more should be done by all governments.

In London the Albanian mafia has reportedly been taking over from the Turkish gangs in the heroine trade.

And how can you accuse Serbs of being 'medievel' when the very code 'kanun' of the Albanian mafia and clan culture was born in the Dark Ages?

As for the ICJ decision, it's foolish for anyone to think that it doesn't count. By ignoring its findings the UN members will be undermining it to a point where it will no longer hold any power. Nobody wants that to happen.

Ah yes, hope. Hope is good, Tadic. But let me get this straight; your hope lies with the ICJ? We all know that its result will be one which doesn't take sides, which sits somewhere in the middle. Therein, at this point, your hope dies. You're simply delaying the inevitable.

How can someone hope on an opinion? ICJ is just an opinion that will have no impact.

Saying such things from tadic make him look small.

The EU's representative in Kosovo, Pieter Feith, on February 11, 2009, told the lawmakers at the European Parliament...

"Kosovo must do more to fight organized crime and corruption, and to promote democracy."

Apparently, Feith has the same opinion as President Tadic when it comes to crime is Kosovo.

Shame on you,"albano", for attempting to distort the truth.

Was it the Albanian Mafia to shoot in Belgrade's downtown and in plain daylight the Prime Minister of Serbia or who else did that?

Just to clarify: I have the utmost respect for Primer Zoran Dindic and the current authorities of Serbia.

The Economist writes today that figures don't prove that Albanians are protagonists of the drug dealing in Europe.

I am curious to know, when he speak nonsense in Beograd TV, do people laugh or at least smile with those nonsense?

only by self-defence and force ...

i hope the next "president" will realize that!

"How can someone hope on an opinion? ICJ is just an opinion that will have no impact."

The ICJ is the United Nations court. If they rule the unilateral declaration of independence was illegal, all members of the UN who publicly recognized Kosovo's independence will be hard pressed to continue that recognition unless something else changes. Also, Kosovo aspires to become a member of the UN. That can't happen if the ICJ rules against the declaration.

"“Serbia, like many EU countries, is suffering from the activities of the Albanian Mafia in Kosovo,” which is very active in drug trafficking, particularly heroin, he added."

You can't get any low than this. Be aware that this guy is the prime minister of a country that wants to join EU!!
Sound to me more like a uneducated ignorant, who doesn't have a clue how to speak to a foreign journalist.
Dear Mr Tadic you make the case of Kosovo Independence very clear. There is no way Kosovo can go back to be governed by your kind of peoples.
And a last think, please rimind foreign media who killed your last Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic ?????

Really? So why is Tadic saying that he will not listen to it if it rules for Kosova?

Poor Tadic does not know wich way to turn. He is a president in a dilema. What choice does he have?He is beeing very European in one part,Serb nationalist in an other part, generaly bashing Albanians at the same time as well as beeing the president of Serbia. Not an easy job. I have an idea for your president. Mr Tadic the sooner you explain to your people that Kosovo is lost forever the better. For Serbs that is.And while the od Albanian is cought with a kilo of heroin, Serbia and the Serbs are a major route via Bulgaria of lorry's of heroin heading for Europe. Please spare as the Comments of the Albanian stereotype. They are a mere jackal. The wolf is the culprit.Happy anniversary.

Albano - No I am not an accountant for any criminal operation, although if I were I would probably make them all bankrupt within a week!

Anyway, my fellow city dweller Andy Boskovic said it all perfectly. That's the difference between the various criminal networks - the effects that they have in other countries.

" Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, speaking to Austrian daily Oberoesterreichische Nachrichten and Kleine Zeitung, said that Priština would accept the ICJ’s decision.

“I don’t want to interfere in the Court’s decision. We will respect and analyze it,” he said, asked what Priština would do should the court’s ruling go against them. "

I couldn´t believe what I was reading!
we will analyze it?

Touchy, my dear, you will have to obey, there is nothing for you to analyze, since you are no legally recognized official.

as for those who think that the ICJ-ruling will be "in between". you must have been reading too much of that cheap yellow-press in down-town Priština!

international laws and norms are pretty clear on this case, so don´t fool yourselves, kids.

Mr.Touchy will certainly start to grab together as much money as possible in the time that remains for him and his bandits.

...but again, isn´t it amusing how he is acting AS IF he was a statesman? =)

albano said a lot but speaking of mafia can anyone tell me how Arkan did all those crimes during 60s, 70s and 80s in former Yugoslavia and the western Europe including bank robbery and murder?. How can someone like him be the closest to the president of Serbia?. Do you think that government of Serbia is still involved with serbian mafia in and outside of the country?.
