"if UN is in charge why do they have to CONVINCE the Kosovo Government?
(L*O*G*I*C, 14 February 2009 22:28) "

Sure, Pristina can continue to be obstinate. And be left out of the UN indefinitely.

As far as facing reality regarding Kosovo and it's true status --- someone should have reminded the Ambassador that the Russian status as a Super Power is what's really a "done deal", and that the West's New World Order has become the New World Disorder.

As we all know UNMIK is fully in control of Kosovo.

(Ron, 14 February 2009 15:33)

Ron, pleasebe realistic. As we know, UNMIK has transferred most of is powers to EULEX and Kosovo Government. Actually UNMIK as only an interface between Kosovo Government, EULEX and Serbia

George by your statement, I assume you are claiming that Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia are the true powerhouses in the European able to withstand the incredible pressures that the others so readily succumbed to.
I really think you need to take your argument in another direction.

"for this reason, after Kosovo's independence day on Feb. 17, the idea of talks between Priština and Belgrade will spring back to life".

It's all pat of 'neighborly' relations. The want Kosova an Serbia to talk. They know that police, customs and justice are off limits so they ill talk about churches, pensions, visas etc. If Serbia participates, t recognizes Kosova.

George--

The British Ambassador should be reigned in and reprimanded by his superiors like they did to Miliband. The provacative term "done deal" that he used in descibing Kosovo's independence to the Serbian people, is not becoming of any diplomat, let alone a British one. "Done deal" for whom? The term "done deal" is a favorite term among drug dealers and gangsters, and most used when a victim comes to complain that he/she has been cheated.

Why should the Albanians be upset when the West attempts to persuade them to uphold agreements and laws? The Albanians were happy when the West used unethical and "bully" tactics in order to get the majority of the EU states to recognize Kosovo and install terrorists in power. YES, terrorists. Wasn't Thaci taken of the terrorist list because W and NATO needed him to fulfil their own illegal plans? I read that Ambassador Wordsworth is bragging with, and appears to be as proud of The 22 EU recognitions as Thaci is. That's like a sultan bragging that he has 22 concubines in his harem, but not mentioning the fact that majority of them were bought and forced into that harem.

Serbia has egg all over her face over this one.
The crust of the 6 point plan was Discussions needed to take place over each of these 6 points. UNMIK attempted the first such discussion and Serbia boycotted it.
It is similar to the saying Russia cannot be more Serbian than Serbia.
If Serbia refuses to show up for a plan that was their plan, why should it occupy one minute of anyone elses time?

If provincial government does not want to talk just talk to UNMIK--Ron
That is precisely what started this mess, Serbia talked with UNMIK announced success and what happened everyone ignored it, because Pristina was not involved.

As we all know UNMIK is fully in control of Kosovo--Ron
As evidenced by Ban saying uNMIk was unable to fulfill its duties, by Zannier saying he cannot do anything, as a matter of fact the only actions UNMIK has taken is transferring functions over to EULEX and the government of Kosovo.

I do agree with your last quote probably not the way you meant it.

In other words, "we can no longer afford to accomodate your intolerant demands, so either you bend or you will be abandoned. Daddy has no more money in his wallet."

There should be no talk with Serbia whatsoever unless Serbia recognises Kosova as equal partner and its independence. Anything else regarding "talks" it will be a waste of time and money.
