BGanaon, I am a nationalist and I don't really care how Mr. Ljaic or you or anyone else prays or does not pray and I realize that muslims play a role in Serbia's long history and Serbia could not be the same without them.-

That being said I doubt mr Lajic really is a good representative of the average Serbian Muslim

every devout muslim that I have ever met would tell me the term islam may be defined as submitting to the will of Allah, and much of the Koran reads about responsibility:

it is written in their Holy Koran "Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein: And whoever recommends and helps an evil cause, shares in its burden."

Mr Lajic is an embarrassment to the Serbian cause because he and his compatriots serve the will of western enemies. The people who they call their international partners work to destabilize and diminish Serbia and its sovereignty.

If you can't see how this is an affront to Serbia , and even Islam (an important element of modern Serbian society) that Tadic pawns his responsibilities off to his lackeys who are just as careles as he then I am not sure why you don't understand.

With respect to the prosecutor, he is just doing his job if a crime may have been committed it is his duty of care to investigate- I hope he is not under the typical pressure of the ruling cabal; if he is he may well end up in a hospital from a stress induced stroke

ZK first off you have to decide which is it - was Ilic making a reference to the fact that Ljajic was muslum or not?

Well bg, we both know there isn't enough in what he said to determine that and the prosecutor will only need about 2 seconds to come to the same conclusion. If Ilić claims it was to do with the PM and President not sending out invites then case closed.

Of course if this so-called government had an interest in causing this political and media circus then a job well done. It is a great shame to use such an important historic event in such a way.

ZK first off you have to decide which is it - was Ilic making a reference to the fact that Ljajic was muslum or not?

In other words what does 'an insult to all that is Serb' mean?

Secondly you repeated the defence that Ilic made afterward that ilics's 'concern' was that the invitations were not sent out by the PM or President. A classic attempt to change the subject - unless he can connect this complaint to the fact to 'an insult to all that is Serbs' its going to be a tall order explaining himself to the public prosecutor. Besides I don't believe he even mentioned that this was his concern from the podium.

If Ilic is under stress, its entirely of his own making. However, there is a long tradition of decision makers being hospitalised straight after their doing something controversial. In recent years off the top of my head you had General Kadijevic and that Stimic guy who was head of the privatisation agency. Both got 'sick' and miraculously recovered afterward. Its entirely possible that Ilic has realised he went overboard and / or that his coalition partners have told him to put a sock in it for a couple of days.

Now, I'm not sure that I understand your claim that it is insensitive to have a Serbian muslum to send out invitations. Why? And upsetting to whom? Up till now I'm not aware of any Serbians complaining when receiving their invitations.

It will be upsetting to chauvanists for sure, because they generally hate muslums, but should we pander to them, or should we support a man who has helped the Serbian cause?

It is amazing that you talk about sensitivity though. Those whose sensibilities you are defending here (Ilic, extreme nationalists etc) usually have not a care in the world for anybodies sensibilities and are very quick to insult.

"You are going to visit Karađorđe in Orašac, and Rasim Ljajić is sending out the invitations, he's my mate, kudos to him, but that is an insult to the dignity of this state, to Karađorđe, an insult to all that is Serb," he was quoted as saying.

Just as I thought, a comment blown completely out of proportion with B92 and this so-called government causing unnecessary stress to this person, who is now in hospital. This is a complete load of hogwash.

As Ilić has pointed out, the President or Prime Minister should send out those invitations and not some lower cabinet member. Any racist remarks were invented by the DS and media, now that should be clear.

In The Netherlands we have a Dutch MP calling the Koran a "fascist book" and that comes under freedom of speech - check http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7885918.stm but Mr Ilić calls into question Mr Ljajić's role into sending out invitations and that is somehow a crime.

However, if we can use freedom of speech here, which is definitely lacking at B92, it is a bit insensitive to have a Muslim send out invitations for an event celebrating an uprising against occupying Muslims. I have nothing against Rasim Ljajić, but I suspect this so-called government purposely created such an insensitive issue so they can blow it out of proportion.

What next, the US ambassador sending invites to commemorate the death of Serbian civilians during NATOs bombing? We could even get the German ambassador to send out WWII Victory-Day invites!

After all, it seems this so-called government has lost all sensitivity to important issues. I suppose that's why they can openly negotiated and shake hands with the very people determined to destroy Serbia.
