It would be better if serbia's diplomacy takes another direction, trying to increase its economy, than wasting time&money for against-kosovo-campaign.
The Kosovo is a game over game !

Thew problem is all marketing and branding efforts were headed by incompetent people.

There was the buy domestic campaign to decrease imports. It was headed by a rather mediocre Serbian singer, not by a marketing or branding expert.

Then there;s the commercials on CNN. These gave the impression Serbia only consists of churches. Not only that but they showed churches in Romania and Kazakh music. A CNN department made the cmmercials.

Then there;s the fact that the government seems to have never promoted the fact that foreign investors could easily trade with the EU or that one could get easy access to the Russian marker through the FTA we have with Russia.

Then theirs the fact that the government solely focuses on EU markets. I mean they could have looked elsewhere, a perfect case is agriculture- instead of focusing on a market that protects it's farmers they could have looked at the middle east (states with money, can't grow agriculture, willing to pay higher price).

Then there's the lack of media campaigns like you see in the economist. The one our southern neighbour FYROM has had is a good example.

Totally agree with both comments -- Serbia has plenty of internal resources that can promote Serbia's brand at a much lower cost. Not to mention internationally recognized atheletes that could assist with the effort! :)

surely some young serb university students studying advertising or marketing or art would jump at the opportunity to design and deliver Brand Serbia!? Someone needs to give them a chance to show what they can do.

Ministers & departments are quick to say why we can't do something - in this case, there isn't the budget. It's their job to be creative and find a solution. Why don't they choose a product and say to Scott Bradbury work with this brand & you will be paid in percentage terms of the value that his work adds to the brand, or the money that it brings to the country. When Michael Jordan made millions from the Nike Air Jordan, he did so because he took 5%/10% of the gross sales, not from a large up front fee. He made Nike and himself a great brand.
