Simple. Both were countries before the UN came into existence and recognised as such.

Now tell me when the "country" of Kosovo has ever existed in it's current form? the answer is NEVER. It never has and it never will.

As for the north, how do they "steal" the north when 1) it already belongs to Serbia and 2) it's under Serbian control.

The question is, how do you propose to impose your authority in the north? Do you think the international community will allow you to use force to take it? Hahahaha, i don't think so, so Kosovo is already de Facto partitioned. A simple announcement by the Serbs that they are independent will suffice - sound familiar?

How is Serbia going to steal North Kosovo? Maybe send trucks with MUPs and they will dug up the North, put it into trucks, and drive back to Serbia?

YOU accuse Serbia of theft!
How on earth can Serbia steal from itself?
You are the ones stealing.

To reply to your previous post about 90+ recognitions and then you will get a seat in the UN, I say dream on.

It doesn't matter how many recognitions you get, until you get Russia and China you will NOT get a seat in the UN. Why is this so hard for you to grasp?

Radoslav,

When has Abkhazia and S. Ossetia ever been "independent nations" seeing as they have NEVER been UN MEMBERS?

If you mean proclaim independence in the early 90s then so have we.

I don't even know where to begin with your post. How about the fact that Russia has a much easier way to take hold of Balkans via Montenegro then Serbia?

L*O*G*I*C or should that be I*L*L*O*G*I*C*A*L stop talking rubbish.

Abkhazia and South Ossetia have already been independent nations in the past, Kosovo never has or will be. Kosovo has a much slimmer chance of becoming independent than either of the above, to deny it is to delude yourself.

Everybody uses everybody for their political games. Russia may well sell Serbia out but i doubt that will happen in the near future. Everyone is vying for a position in the balkans due to it's strategic location. The US could toss you aside and use Albania to achieve it's aims without much fuss. Serbia is Russia's only chance of getting a foothold in the Balkans, so who do you think will hold on tighter?

They'll be even less chance of US backing once northern Kosovo is under direct Serbian control as the US is only interested (after the Bondsteel base which is already established) in access to the coal mines. If agreement comes to pass with Serbia on that issue that'll be the last nail ni the coffin for Kosovo. you'll have NO choice but to get back to the negotiating table to hammer out some form of autonomy within Serbia.

Tex Willer - you'll never get beyond that unfortunately as there needs to be a recommendation by the Security council. Unfortunately we all know that Russia and China will veto that recommendation. Hahaha, unlucky.

Serbs always proclaim that the Ahtisaari Plan is dead, they may be right on that because it's part of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosova. It must be dead since all its' laws are being drafted.

Radoslav,
We both know that Kosova has a way bigger chance of becoming a UN member STATE than the illegal puppy states of Russia (S. Osettia, Abkhazia). If someday Russia wants a leeway, America will bargain for Kosovo recognition in the UN. Don't try to think that Kosovo will never join the UN because it's clear as day that Russia is using Serbia for its political gains; one day they will sell you out.

Kosovo is building his institutions step by step, also the memberships in International Organizations will com in that way, step by step. UN seat will be achieved after Kosovo get recognitions from 98+ member states, taht day will come but we need to try to build our economy since our neighbours are saying that Kosovars don't have money for bread. UN wait for us we will be there very soon.

and Serbia just asked for a second IMF loan. What's your point?

Radoslav

The IMF and WB are run by the US - congratulations on gaining a seat at both.

Unfortunately the US doesn't run the UN so don't expect to be a legitimate country any time soon.

p.s. i hope that the IMF and WB throw money at you, it'll be less of a burden for Serbia in the future.

Yes Prn, we all know that you Albanians mean illegal business. The whole Europe is very familiar with your illegal businesses and are just waiting for the US to turn their head away so that they can finally deal with you.

PRN

Yesterday, Sejdiu ordered the openning of another 8 embassies worldwide making 18 in total.

Next month Kosovo will be joining IMF and WB.

In other words, we mean business.
