"Those people can certainly pose no threat to Serbia, because they are few in number, and the Serbian Army can defend our territory,"

has nothing to do with numbers. NOBODY WANTS SERBIA.

throughout all of the violence in the past few decades in what was yugoslavia...

Serbia Proper Itself experienced NOTHING that a Serb "army" had to defend itself from.

Infact there is not arrogance here as the posters above me are trying to suggest.

All he is saying is that a quasi-state created by western aggression in an attempt to install a base of operations in order to control the balkan will not have an army aswell.
Its like buying a pet and then the pet deciding it wants one too, sorry but you are the pet not the owner.

Ivanovic has made an exceedingly good point above how this army will pose a threat to Serbs living in the province which is an issue which must be addressed immediatly. It is the common Albanians who joins these forces and it was the common Albanian who joined the KLA and as such took part in the process which has caused the mass murder and exudus of Serbs from their holiest province.
Quite simply Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija cannot be trusted, they were given rights and autonomy and they failed to prosper creating Kosmet into Yugoslavia's poorest region even though it is the richest in terms of resources, they then turned this on the Serbs ultimately culminating in a response with a very heavy hand in 1998, but a response none the less at which point their immoral and unjust goals were achieved with the help of western powers acting in their own intrests not of the Albanians.

This force is a naive creation as it will serve little purpose apart from to complicate and dampen an already strained relationship between the Serbs and Albanians. This is definately a step back, but then again as we are seeing Albanians are trying to act asif somehow Serbia has no bearing on Kosmet, which is ridicules to say the least.

Ivanović... stressed that "2,500 soldiers armed with rifles and well trained" can pose a real danger – for Kosovo's Serb community. I would say it will not be directed to Kosova's Serbs because they are Kosova's citizens. It will be a big danger for Serbia if Serbia attacks Kosova.

"Those people were often involved in organized crime, even in terrorist activity,"

"Terrorist activities"? Fighting Serbian army in Kosova was/is not terrorist activity but FREEDOM FIGHTERS! Playing the "terrorist card" will not work any more in the modern world. Kosova knows very well the "gentlmen actions" of the Serbian army in Kosova in the last war.

".. will not change our position on those forces," said he." Thanks for letting us know but why Kosova should change its position?

"As for the talks on the six-point plan Belgrade agreed with the UN" FORGET ABOUT IT as it wasn't agreed with Kosova institutions!

".. we will not talk with the highest representatives of the temporary Kosovo institutions which claim to be institutions of an independent state.

Please tell us the TRUTH for once! Have Kosova institutions said or asked to talk to Serbia even if Serbia doesn't recognise Kosova"?
