With Biden and Bzezinski by Obama's side Russians have to keep an eye on the US new ideas especially those mentioned in the Times. Upto now the US were not strict enough in fulfilling their previous obligations before the Russians. They have stored some of the charges while the Russians destroyed their owns. So the Yankees used to take off two of the 3 charges from their Minuteman missiles and were always ready to place them back on.
Today Russia has got about 6500 charges which no one can stop. Besides very often Russian nukes are much more powerful than the American ones. But if the quantity of the missiles lowers till 1000 on each side the situation may change drastically.
The thing is that the US are speeding up their anti missile systems on the perimeter of Russia and in the space. So the Russians are suspicious cause Obama's proposal may bring a shift of balance even if they close their eyes at the arsenals of the UK , France and Israel.
But bacause the Russians do not trust words when it comes to the matters of security the new US ideas have mere chances to be employed the way they are sceduled. Still the new American foreign policy trend is interesting and contrasting to what we had seen during last 8 years.
I personally do not ecpect too much change.The only difference is that the previous president was white while this one is black.But they both are simply cartoon figures.Dumbo replaced by mickey mouse.Yes and I have almost forgotten about the polish PM Donald "the Duck"
If Biden wants to "press the re-set button" with Russia, pushing through with the missile-shield program is the first thing that needs to go from the US's agenda. I see nothing "new" here from the Bush Administration: lots of feel-good rhetoric and hawkish mentality interspersed within the same sentence.
If the US wants to "press the re-set button" it needs to relent on NATO expansion into Ukraine and Georgia, and withdraw its plans for a missile shield against Iran in Europe and reposition it in Israel.
'He spoke of a new relationship with Russia and said the U.S. would continue to develop a missile defense shield.'
Again, this sentence says it all. More smoke and mirrors and marketing crap, they say one thing and do another. If there really were a new policy towards Russia, then the US would immediately cancel the completely useless missile shield, which serves no other purpose than to start another arms race with Russia.
I don't expect ANY changes from this administration, they may sound more conciliatory, but actions speak louder than words. It is the same old crap. They all have the same bosses, which is the corrupt military industrial complex which runs the US, and is running it into the ground. It's good to see that they are now bankrupt.
