Slovenia is the best proof that joining the EU can lead to economic prosperity.

Serbia should follow Slovenia's example and join the EU as soon as possible.
(Mircea, 6 February 2009 14:14)

Mircea, is this all you can say? Every article you respond to, you repeat this same old worn out statement.
I have not read one response by you saying anything else but Serbia should get into the EU.

Do you honestly think that you are frightening the Serbs in any way? Do you honestly belive that you can make it look like if Serbia doesn't join the EU Serbia will collapse?

What do you get out of pushing this EU membership to Serbs?

I still say that what Serbia has to give up in order to join is what is so attractive to you. My fellow, you say you are Romianian. Are you sure you are not a Romanian of Albanian decent?
Why do you care so much about what Serbia has to give up? Is this going to change your life in some way?

Just stop for once. We've heard you a thousand times on this already.

The "best" example is always something to show off. How about the bad examples? For a while all EU economies will see a decline in their prosperity and the same goes for many non-EU countries (the EU cannot prevent that). It is clear that many Kosovo Albanians want Serbia to join because they know that then they will have a change to get out of there. Kosovo itself will NEVER join the EU and IF Serbia would join then all Kosovo Albanians will suddenly use their Serbian passports (that many still have or that they have applied for since last year). Even if Albania would join the EU Kosovo will NEVER be allowed to join Albania and in that case many Kosovo Albanians will apply for an Albanian passport to flood the rest of Europe (many already have one for they were born in Albania).

Logic,

Could you please forward the following:
1. The number of Albanians killed and massacred by Slovenian paramilitaries and police.
2. The number of Albanian women raped by Slovenian paramilitaries
3. The number of times that Slovenia paraded tanks in Prishtina streets
4. The number of Albanians imprisoned by Slovenia because they were Albanians.
5. Also, could you provide me with a university in Serbia in Albanian language (please do not include Kosovo).
Please be free to include any Slovenian in your calculations (any spheres of life, any country).
Maybe I helped the Albanian Slovenian friendship during my Army service. My best friend was a Slovenian named Skela Edi.

To get a better understanding of the old friendship between Kosovo Albanians and Slovenia, I would appreciate any reliable information on the following:
1. What was the number of Albanians with Serbian or Albanian citizenship legally living in Slovenia
2. What was the number of legally employed Albanians in all sectors of Slovenian economy and other social structures
3. The number of Albanian students at Slovenian universities?
4. The number of students in all schools, elementary or secondary level?
5. Were the Albanian students guaranteed instructions in their mother-tongue?
In your answer you may include the numbers of JNA members and their families, too.
Many thanks.

Now these Slovenians are rubbing our noses in it!

"Old friends"? What a joke.

I've got a good joke for them: You want to play politics in the midst of a global economic recession. . .well then. . .say goodbye to a market of 8 million Serbs and hello to an impoverished one of 2 million Albanians!

Hilarious, isn't it?!

Though we cannot influence the larger powers through economic means, we can impact the economies of the smaller Balkan nations given our large market size.

We need to boycott all products from all Balkan nations that have recognized this 'kosova' NOW!

Remember Jozef - countries have interests, not friends.

No, Mircaea you are wrong:
1. Slovenia had the largest GDP in eastern europe already in 1991. In Yugoslavia it's GDP was 2 times larger then the national average.
2. Slovenia's greatest growth in GDP occured between 94-2000, when there was no clear prospect of it joining the EU.
3. Ever since 2000 and especially asince it joined the EU it;s economic growth has decreased.
4. Serbia can't growth to Slovenia because there are a few specific reasons for why it grew so fast.
a) The EU did not treat it like it treats Serbia.
b) It is right next to the rich markets of Italy (especially the north) and Austria, and it is not far from Germany.

Serbia does not have this.

Also. If one was truly to emulate the Slovenian model then we would have to expell G-17+ from the government since Slovenians took the exact opposite of their neo-liberal policies. After all 15 years after independence Slovenia is still the state in eastern europe with the most state ownership of industry.

Serbian people need to wake up and boycott all products from Slovenia. Slovenes do lots of business with Serbia, and we definitely have leverage there. I, for one, will certainly not buy anything from there. Since they love the albanians so much, let them trade with them instead of Serbia, and see how far that gets them.

The one that pulled the short straw would be the one serving in an unfriendly state.
That would be the Slovenian ambassador in Belgrade.

Mircea,
how do you propose Serbia join the EU. Jumping jacks, flag waving and whistling to get the EU's attention.
For a fellow like you that reads B92 everyday, one would think that you were aware that Serbia has been doing everything possible to appease her masters.
I don't know, but maybe you have some inside sources that point to the right directions of EU entry.
Please tell us Mircea, what is the magic password.
What password did Romania utilize?
Maybe, Serbia should just hand over her total territory for quick entry to this discorded organization called the EU.
