Who on earth are you? Who are you to make any sort of demands? Did you and your kind apologize for being terrorists and bringing nothing but poverty and destruction to Serbia's southern province? did you and your kind apologize for killing all those Serbs and other minorities? did you and your kind apologize for destroying all those churches? did you and your kind apologize for desecrating all those orthodox cemeteries? did you and your kind apologize to your own children for failing them as human beings to adopt to your host country and act like normal gracious citizens instead of self centered abusive animals?? Serbia and no Serb should ever apologize to you for the Albanian created problems you have caused.
(hmm, 3 February 2009 17:12)

Who on earth are you hmmm saying this words? DID YOU AND YOUR KIND apologize killing innocent people, elderly people, children, raping young girls and after killing them or letting them live with the fear whole their live did you and your kind apologize to that? did you and your kind apologize driving 800.000 people out of Kosova with force? Sure every single serb should apologize for what serbia did to people in kosova.

"If you think that Belgrade can negotiate something with UN and it will be implemented against the will of 95% of the people, you are sorely mistaken."

Maybe it's collective stubborness, maybe it's an attempt to show a stiff upper lip in spite of the painfully obvious, and maybe it's just a symtpom of only reading Albanian media, but I really fail to understand how some people can still say the 6-point plan in "dead" when

a) it was unanimously passed by the UNSC (including the US) and

b) Zannier and Feith are going to BG to talk on implementing it.

Sovereignty (or rational thinking) is clearly not in the hands of Pristina.

"Meanwhile Sejdiu is the opening speaker of the Munich Security conference with 45 world leaders"

Well if he's the opening comedy act, then great. The man cracks me up. Maybe he'll do the spinning plate skit. Or better yet he'll do impressions: "Ladies and Gentlemen, here's my impression of what I would say if I actually had real power...."

>>> "If Kosovo is supposed to be sovereign, why are two international officials talking to another supposedly separate state, rather than the Albanians themselves? I thought "no one can tell Pristina what to do". I also thought the "6 point plan is dead".

There is NO six or seven points. Just decentralization as agreed with Ahtisaari plan. However customs, police and justice are ONE, just ask EULEX. EU wants both sides to talk, a prerequisite to get EU money or path. If you think that Belgrade can negotiate something with UN and it will be implemented against the will of 95% of the people, you are sorely mistaken. So far Jeremic has gone to Un, that's it and EULEX was invited by the Kosova Government to run police, justice and customs.

Meanwhile Sejdiu is the opening speaker of the Munich Security conference with 45 world leaders (Biden, Merkel, Sarkozy etc) to help Kosova diplomatically.

Pretty impressive coup, no?

Since Boris Tadic is willing to even meet Kosovo's leaders, he's in a sense recognizing them and their independence.

Great job Tadic. Thanks.

Tadic, once you lose the battle I don’t think there is any more room for discussion. Kosova and Serbia they will meet one day but not before the recognition from its government.

Mr. president Tadic oops, you forgot so fast that Belgrade issued an arrest warrant for the K-Alb Trio not long ago and now you just want to talk?. You can forget that starting right now because if you say/wish so for Serb minority in Kosova, how about same thing with Albanians in Presheva, Medvegja, Bujanovc etc?. That would be fair wouldn't it?.

Honestly I don't think that there would be any technical talks between the two since Serbia refuses to recognize Kosova as an Independent Country.
It's very important that firstly Serbia officially apologizes to Kosova for the atrocities; as far as I know Serbia has already apologized to Croatia and Bosnia.
Mr. Tadic I know you're Western oriented president but as long as you and your government doesn't respect the sovereignty of Independent Kosova there is no talks whatsoever.

Remember neither UNMIK, EU nor EULEX can talk on Kosova's behalf...they're only mediators or better say spectators:)

EA: "For some bizarre reason Belgrade wants to hear the messege through foreigners rather than from the interested party."

It is far more bureaucratic than that. The 'foreigners' are those who have the statutory right under the UN to negotiate with Belgrade on behalf of what is still legally under the UN a provincial government.

You make red tape and due process sound like pettiness, but in fact that is the way that it has to be dealt with.

Mike let me answer you your question. For some bizarre reason Belgrade wants to hear the messege through foreigners rather than from the interested party.
Mike,
Do you remember President Ahtisari? The one who was speaking to Serbs and Albanians to find a solutions regarding the Kosova status....Hard job to get Serbs on board but here we are....Maybe Peter Feith will explain to the Serbs what Kosova state is all about. Because the Serbian government doesn't want to listen to the Albanians in Kosova...)) I hope that answers your questions...)

Comments #1 and #5 appear to be the most realistic.

To be honest, these "talks" have already begun. If Kosovo is supposed to be independent, why on Earth are Zannier and Feith talking to Jeremic/Tadic? If Kosovo is supposed to be sovereign, why are two international officials talking to another supposedly separate state, rather than the Albanians themselves? I thought "no one can tell Pristina what to do". I also thought the "6 point plan is dead". Why then, is Feith going to Belgrade to discuss implementing it?

...but they (negotiations) have to be set up in such a way that won’t compromise Serbia’s state interests and the integrity of our country,” the president underlined.
Integrity of Serbia? I don't think the Kosova government has questioned the integrity of Serbia. It is Serbia whom is questioning the integrity of Kosova as an independent country and equal partner. Without Serbia recognising Kosova as an independent country I doubt any real progress will be made on "technical" issues between the two. Same rights for Serbs in Kosova to the Albanians living in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvegja.

Dear Tadic,

You are willing to meet us K-Alb but I am not sure whether we want to meet you.

If you want to meet K-Alb you have to recognise the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo as well as officially apologise for crimes against humanity during 1998/9 state sponsored terror on civilian population.

I you fullfil the above condition we MAY agree to meet you.

To an extent, some comments here by the Albanians are correct. There will be no meetings between Serbians and Albanians because there are no legitimate K-Albanian officials.

This is just noise to demonstrate Tadic is trying to be flexible. UNMIK and EULEX will be the intermediaries in any negotiations and the sooner we finalise the technical aspects of the functional partition the better.
