this declaration will have the same effect, as the acknowledgement of the socalled "republik kosovo" or the oath of eternal friendship to (now rest-)georgia: none ...

but you are right with one thing mr. munter: the difference between occupation-on-time and independence is a signature in and from belgrade ....

something you will probably wait for, when also the now occupied parts of kosovo are liberated ....

Leaderships of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kosovo should talk like friendly neighbors and resolve problems in the best possible fashion and we will welcome that.

First of all, Ambassador Munter needs to get his head out of the clouds, understand that there are hundreds of years of animosity between the Balkan peoples and that certain countries can't just "bury the hatchet" in one sweeping hand gesture. My country hasn't been a country nearly as long as the peoples in this area have been going at one another over this or that. Unfortunately, I doubt any position will change from my govt regarding Kosovo because once Guantanamo is closed down Camp Bondsteel will most likely become the next terrorist prison camp since only about 1/4 of the population can find the Balkans on the map, let along the pseudo-state of Kosovo on one (out of sight, out of mind) Finally, I can't wait to see how this type of BS diplomacy works out when the Hispanics in American Southwest (Aztlan as the Mexicans call it) start doing the same thing as the ethnic Albanians did in Kosovo. I sincerely doubt my country will be so receptive of the land grabbers here as they are of the ones there. Hypocrisy at it's finest (you can add South Ossetia & Abhkazia to the hypocrisy list as well). "Sui generis", unique case, that's one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever heard and I mean ever.

I see that the Americans are just as arrogant as ever.
Well, Mr. Munter, according to you the status is resolved but not according to the rightful owners of the land.

Serbs are not a bunch of Indians or Aborigines you can just dismiss and take their land. Serbs have allies and friends too.

Don't forget, your citizens have lot their taste for war and they want peace. That's why Obama was so successful. He promissed dialogue and change not war.
You are obviously hoping that Serbs will take this and as scared little rabbits obey you but you are wrong.
Your opinions and demands don't scare us.

The problem of Kosovo is finished, as the status was resolved and, in my opinion, reopening of the issue of Kosovo status is not realistic. Leaderships of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kosovo should talk like friendly neighbors and resolve problems in the best possible fashion and we will welcome that.

Loud and clear... I hope this comment was translated into serbian and showed to the TV viewers/listeners.

On the contrary, this is still very much an open case . Washington can say whatever it wants about its incomplete pet project in the Balkans, but two things are remain major issues.

First, the US has much less of a voice in the international arena than it once did. Pristina can be a chorus of bobble-heads in whatever Washington says, but the EU has shown greater interest in compromising with Belgrade over Kosovo than originally intended. And if push came to shove, which countries would openly defend Kosovo's so-called sovereignty if Serb parallel instituions (which I feel is a misnomer since there are no K Serb institions that are parellel to those in BG) continue to gain popular legitimacy? There might be attempts at bringing the enclaves to compromise, but the north is, and has remained, within Belgrade's sphere. Even Feith knows this.

Second, at some point the question of Kosovo's entry into the EU is going to come up. Unless something completely unforeseen happens, I see 5 vetoes on that horizon. Let's not even talk about the UN.

Kosovo remains very much an open issue, despite the overly optimistic statements coming from Munter or any State Department official likes to say.

It's time for Mr. Munter to buy a one-way ticket back to Washington and bring his pathetic bunch of 'cronies' with him.
Maybe then, he might conduct a serious moral inventory of himself and the US State Department and begin to make amends to Serbia for all the corrupt practises perpetrated by the US in the region of Kosovo i Metohija.

Of course, the US would like the 'Kosovo problem' to just 'go away' but they should remember that the wrongs we do in this World always return to haunt us.

Americans tell me they cannot understand why so many Europeans hate them.
I tell them that all they have to do is take a look at their arrogant, selfish actions worldwide and this deserved hatred is easily understandable.
The US must stop denying the fact that it was themselves who created the tragedy of Kosovo through their own greed, ignorance, arrogance and blatantly evil behaviour.
Mr. Obama has talked about 'CHANGE'.
There will be no 'change'.
His basket contains too many rotten apples; some which have been rotten since the early 1990s are actually back in that basket again.
It's all so very sad.

Recognise Kosova independence, mutual agreements between the two countries Kosova and Serbia, free movement of people and goods, same rights for Kosova Serbs to the Albanian living in Preseva, Bujanovc and Medvegja, both Kosova and Serbia in EU and NATO and all PEACE TO ALL! There will never be good relations with the United States simply because the United States is the greatest enemy of the Serbian people and has for over twenty years done everyhting in its power to destroy and humiliate the Serb people.

Munter should reralize that the issue of kosovo will only be finished when the Serbian province returns to its rightful owners - the Serb people. But one thing that is finished is the American Empire.
