Nelli from Canada,
Serbia has been bombed back to the Stone Age and her economy toppled. Serbia was crushed by foreign intervention and these same foreigners are legally responsible in rebuilding Serbia. The first step to Serbia's rise from the dead/ascention, would be to immediately ratify all pro EU agreements.
Oh Nelli from Canada, you seem to forget how strong encomically and miltitarily Serbia was just 20 years ago, just 10 years before NATO's lead of destruction.

Mladic, like Milosevic and Seselj, is INNOCENT. However, you already now this.

All obstacles in Serbia's path should be removed so that she can return to her proper place and a force to be reconed with.

Applying for EU membership is not a difficult thing to do but considering all the obstacles that Serbia faces that's a big question mark when it comes to her accession/acceptance.

Another Canadian Serb don't compare Romania's procedure into the EU with that of Serbia because there is a big difference between the two countries and you know them damn well.

It's not only Mladic case that would be the only obstacle standing on Serbia's way into the EU.

Better hurry to change the attitude, otherwise no chance to join EU any time soon. Although Serbia can hope for a strategic decision and leniency, just like the then (1980) underdeveloped Greece, and of course the two very underdeveloped newcomer, Romanian and Bulgaria benefite from.

Mircea,
as the Serbia Kosovo affair is a "one a kind", then Serbia's ascention to the EU should be as well. Maybe Serbia will enter much sooner as she has already paid the entrance fee, a few time over.
Then again, Romania was able to enter with no prerequisite and criteria, so why wouldn't Serbia.

The people of Serbia should be aware that the accession process usually takes 6-7 years. If Serbia begins accession negotiations with the EU in 2010, Serbia will probably join the EU in 2016 or 2017.
