Logic – your comments how a somewhat child like view of the world and the real world as it is in Kosovo. I have asked this question many times on this forum and yet to receive a reply from the Albanian side. If Kosovo is on the up and up as you suggest please tell me in what areas. What industry do you have? What industry will you have and are you making or likely to make something Europe and the rest of the word wants. I spent two years in Kosovo and the only answer I can give is a resounding no. The Kosovo Albanians will continue to open coffee bars and restaurants and farm as if still in the middle ages. Your politicians are corrupt and your police service struggles without international assistance. You will be the poor old man of Europe for many years. I am just sorry my tax £ are being wasted not just on aid but also on welfare benefits for so called asylum seekers form your “newly Independent” country. You see the thing is that apart from aid all of your money comes from ex-pats working in Europe. Please tell me its otherwise so that I can ask Gordie McBroon to stop aid to you all!

It would be interesting, if Mr. Bonus Miles Jeremic has reached something at the UN head quarter. This article reads just like an PR-release of the FM-office. Neither there is a journalistic re-check or anything else to prove the words of Jeremic.

Get used to this phrase my friends. Kosovo is in the raise. For too long have we been a black hole ruled by corruption, unemployment, and no economy. With investments and hard work Kosovo will become stronger. The more your DINAR slips the more powerful Kosovo becomes.

Dardania,
As an American with part Serbian heritage, I see this crisis different than 100% pure Serbs. My wish is that this crisis ends and every side gets something. Unfortunately, too many people (Serb and Albanian) believe that only one side should get everything. In this country, past administrations focused only on what's good for Kosovo's Albanians, not on what's good for Serbs and Kosovo's Albanians. Jeremic's resolve is very important and it's the only way the Serb side is getting heard. It's working.

Regarding violence, yes others would fight violence. However, unlike the 1990s, NATO doesn't have the freedom to act the way it wants to. There will be no more bombardment of Serb civilians by NATO war planes. Unfortunately, this Kosovo situation is going to linger for a long time, and in the end a compromise will be reached, and I doubt very much Kosovo will look the way it does today. I hope there is an alternative flag because I seriously doubt Serb-inhabited parts will be part of any future independent Kosovo. Diplomacy is all about compromise.

>>> "The Kosovo Albanians and their supporters believe that with time Serb resolve will diminish and Kosovo will by default become independent. However, Serb resolve is stronger than ever."

1. Who cares about your resolve? See Feb 17th 2008. We'll increase the numbers and wait till Russia sells you out.

>> " Moreover, the Serbs are using diplomatic techniques, not violence."

That's because you can't use violence. See NATO and soon KSF. You aren't fooling anyone about your 'peace'

"and that he had voiced an angry protest at the formation of the KSF."

as long as it was really angry it will work. UN will stop it right away.

I am very impressed with Jeremic and the Serbian government's resolve. The opposition's tactic is an old and good tactic. The Kosovo Albanians and their supporters believe that with time Serb resolve will diminish and Kosovo will by default become independent. However, Serb resolve is stronger than ever. Moreover, the Serbs are using diplomatic techniques, not violence. This makes it hard for coalitions to gather steam against Serbia, like they did back when Milosevic was Serbia's leader. To Vuk, you have lots of support from people in America, including folks like me whom are of only part Serbian heritage:-)
