The Russian ambassador to Belgrade is confident that Serbia will become an EU member soon, but that this should not compromise her relations with Russia.

luidi's comment is pure genius. It is the hard truth. Russia does not care about us, be it if we join the EU or not. If we are in the EU then we would be another pawn that sings a more pro-russian tune in that block. The fact remains that Russia would be very friendly with us if we do not join. The other reason why they said this is because the current regime is pro-West. They do not care what the regime is in serbia, they support the regime be it democratic or not.
