Do tell, where did you hear this little gem of a story?

Finally, If Sarajevo recognised 'Kosova' in the morning, Milorad Dodik would be having his lunch as the PM of a newly independent state while his Bosnian Croat counterpart would be doing likewise over afternoon tea.

well, i'm not entirely certain which "camp" is saying this or if it is offered sarcastically. but for me, it is a GREAT problemo. this is a bizarre and frankly unacceptable situation, and it needs to change, pronto. it is ridiculous that the ultra nationalists, who at any rate have been trying to destroy the integrity of bosnia for the last 2 decades, should be able to dictate or extort bosnian foreign policy.

i will be very interested to hear what raffi gregorian has to say about it.

in some respects, bosnia is the unseen victim in all of these so-called dialogues, and its suffering the underrepresented elephant in the room...

'roberto' from 'frisco'. Like the Albanian irredentist you have a very selective memory of history. Let me enlighten you.

It was Alija Izetbegovic who destroyed the multiethnic character of BiH when he declared independence in March 1992 from SFRJ. He tore up a prior power sharing agreement made between Bosnia's Croat and Serb communities that had up to then ensured peace. His attempts at centralising his rule straight away alienated Serbs and many Croats as they became rightly concerned that Izetbegovic was pushing through an Islamist agenda.

This was the same Izetbegovic who collaborated with the Nazis and was jailed 3 times by the communist Yugoslav authorities. He deliberatley sabotaged the Cutilhero Agreement on behest of the Americans which led to war. War suited his agenda and he didnt care who suffered or who got in the way. The end to him justified the means.

Do you really think that Bosnia wouldn’t accept K. passports?
Of course they do, but they cant, because of Bosnian province with Serbs
And we do understand that, and we are not blaming Bosnia for that
The time will come for that too..

Or you can drive to Peljesac and then take the ferry to the mainland(ca.30 min) and then VISIT ZAGREB =)

WE DONT NEED YOUR PASSPORT!!!

However, I cannot think that it is too harsh a burden on many not to be able to travel to Bosnia.
(doodah, 22 January 2009 20:45)

Not Bosnia, but you can't even go by car to Zagreb, Ljubljana or Vienna since you have to pass thru Neum first, and its in Bosnia.

But I forgot, in 5 years you can take the newly built EU financed 2 lane road that you call "higway" to Albania, then take a ferry to Italy and then go by car 2 days before coming to Zagreb, nice 3 day journey to go to Zagreb! Or you can just bring out your serbian passports and use them since you are serbian citizens despite all this nonsense calling Kosovo an independent state.

We know both Bosniaks and Croats would recognize Kosova, its the third part who is stopping it. You guys dont have it easy either.
(Pejoni, 22 January 2009 20:37)

You're right. They would. This just goes to show you how much influence the Serbs do have.

Now what do do about that????

Don't think that Serbia is beaten. They have many, many countries supporting them. Many more than you have. If you don't believe me , count them.

I love it. Well, albanians, you better get your Serbian passports if you plan on traveling to, or through, Bosnia.
I heard of similar cases of albanians travelling to Cuba with that fake passport, and the Cuban authorities sent them right back on the next plane. Viva Fidel!! :)).

this is the way Bosniaks thank all those Kosovars that fought and sacrificed in defence of Bosnia, and take side with Serbia.
Who does not learn from the past is bound to repeat it. "way to go Bosnia".

The big problem is that UNMIK made the decision not to issue passports anymore and turned that process over to the Kosovo authorities in accordance with their powers outlined by 1244. All UNMIK passports will expire within the next year. However, I cannot think that it is too harsh a burden on many not to be able to travel to Bosnia.

Ron

Of course! Kosovo is a Serbian province ruled by the UN. So of course only UNMIK passports will be recognized.

US and the EU should act the same!

Go Bosnia!

And I thought Kosovo was independent.

Kosovo faces deep problems... Unemployment is 44%, according to the statistical office. The World Bank and others have
kept it afloat. Last year's U.N. budget for the province was $217 million. "Kosovo is going to have trouble surviving economically without the help of the European Union," says Peter Ferdinand at England's
University of Warwick.

You are the DEPENDENT republic of Kosovo.
