Let's see if full cooperation with Hague is established before Croatia can join EU.

I bet they don't put the same conditions on Croatia that they on to Serbia.

More double standards from the wild west who Serbia is dying to join.

"Serbia provoked Croatian citizens into an armed revolt"

Those poor, misunderstood, black-shirted croatian paramilitaries were just forced to go into eastern Slavonia and slaughter croatian serbs for their own good! They were bringing them freedom from Communism!

Clearly the croatian serbs weren't grateful enough at being forced to sign documents 'proving' their loyalty to the croatian state if they wanted to keep their jobs and their pensions. They should have just shut up and accepted being treated as second class citizens, that is always after 'pure' croatians.

And all this happened before any fighting broke out.

And then the croatian serbs had the nerve, the nerve! to resist this state sponsored racism and persecution!

Does anyone wonder why the likes of Tomislav Mercep still has not been brought before the ICTY?

Well, as long as Croatia has Germany standing behind it, as it has done historically, then they will get away with...

Canadian, Serbia's countersuit has no leverage as Croatia did not go inside Serbia. Simple. How can one country sue another for what is happenign in their country.

Serbia provoked Croatian citizens into an armed revolt against that government and that is against UN law. They occupied the country well beyond Eastern Krajina where serbs were majority. Alot of confusion about Krajina. Serbs occupied Krajina but only had majority in eastern Krajina. Big difference.

As for Gotovina, this was done in 1995 and him being accused of 174 deaths hardly amounts to cleansing of entire Krajina of Croats with mass graves all over the place and levelling of city of Vukovar. The fact that Serbs there had weapons for all of this will prove Serb involvement.

Whilst I dont think ICTY will say Serbs are guilty of genocide, it will make a comment and war reparations are inevitable.

RE: Ante Gotovina

Ante Gotovina is not more guilty of war crimes than the Yugoslav Generals Lazarevic, Ojdanic, Paskovic or Sretan Lukic in defending Kosovo from the Albanian terrorist groups UCK and KLA as well as the illegal NATO bombing for the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

However, the deceased former leader of Croatia, Franjo Tudman is guilty of breaking the UN mandated protected zone of Krajina and crossing UN lines.

Ante Gotovina was the commander of Operation Storm and followed his orders.

From my understanding, he did his best to mitigate civilian loss of life.

However, some units with lower level leadership as well as paramilitary groups committed grevious crimes particulary against older civilians as witnessed by Canadian UN Soldiers.

If the Prosecution proves their case against Ante Gotovina, Croatia's chances with her loss suite against Serbia has ZERO chance of success, while Serbia's counter suite could prove to be more successful. Croatia has opened a can of worms that she will have wished she did not! Their is no doubt that Gotovina will be found guilty, this was already determined by this joke of a court before the Ante Gotovina trial even started. If Croatia thinks that their man can get off like the Albanian did before him, she is mistaken, Croatia does not have the support Kosovo does, particularly because of their on-going feud with Slovenia.
