Kosovo: Security or militarization? this is funny Headline from B92.

How about the right Headline: Serbia destabilizing factor in the region?.

Before NATO leaves Kosova I'm sure there will be a lot more than 2500 active members in Kosova Security Force (probably 20-25 thousand members altogether). BUT when they(NATO) leave I'm also sure that Kosova's force will be capable to defend herself from any Serbian attack. It is also possible that NATO troops would be replaced with Albania's peacekeepers since Albania is permanent member of NATO.

This security force look more like security guards at a mall. They will only patrol albanian areas and not serb ones. If they do, they know what to expect. What many don't seem to realize is that the formation of this unit is another step towards the division of the territory. Serbs can and will never accept being dominated and abused by the very same albanians that chased them out of their homes and set fire to their place of worship.

BRian

Since this will be dominated by KLA members this "army" must be disbanded immediately so they don't start killing Serbs and other minorities in Kosovo.

Dear Branislav # 19,
Most of the people I know and me to, wouldn't hesitate a minute to serve America, since because of their action we've turned from dead men walking to life again. We would be nothing but as dead as the man on Srebrenica. Some EU-countries would complain why this happened again, some other would say they couldn't take action because of UN resolutions XXX, while seasons passed by over our graves.
There is very few Serbs who have realized what happened in Kosovo.

Mike, I do agree with you. I'd much prefer to see these people under some kind of control and have the law to answer to rather than being lawless terrorists. They may have a place in the Albanian sections but they certainly wont in the Serbian areas.

It is time to pacify the region. Give the Albanians what they want for now, teach them the meaning of law and order and then we can tell them the Kosovo independence experiment failed.

These "security forces" can then protect the Albanians against themselves.

Vice-President of the Kosovo Serb National Council Rada Trajković believes that the overarching goal of the Kosovo Security Forces will be to control the Kosovo Serbs and everything that enters Kosovo from Serbia.

“All security formations and institutions formed in Kosovo, given that they’re uni-national, actually have battle at the top of their agendas or the priority of data and information collection of those who they perceive to be least loyal—namely, the Serb community and the Serbian state,” she says.

It's just like Mrs. Rada Trajković said!

So called Kosovo (Albanian)security forces are there to control Serbs and force them to accept independence of so called republic of KosovA with Thaci as a prime minister. C'mon! Serbs ain't masochists!

I am sick and tired of hearing about 1244 by Serb politicians and Serbs in general.

Belgrade continues to use this as an escape goat and has done nothing to get Kosovo to shut up about its so called independence. The lobbying by Jeremis and the court ruling is all a joke.

Serbs should know that Belgrade sold off Kosovo with a secret deal. If this is not true then Serbia is the weakest country in the world or can care less about Kosovo.

Dear Tex Willer et al,

It is a blatant lie that Republika Srpska has an army. Since 2007, a unified BiH armed forces exist, due to teh pressure of International Community. The same one that created KSF.
The creation of KSF is yet another example that "all animals are not created equal" and that, in the modern world "the might is right" as long you have rich and powerful sponsors.

Mike

Let's just see what this KSB does before everyone jumps for joy or recoils in horror. At the simplest level, it provides jobs for people who might otherwise find income via less savory means. That it's also little more than an internal security force means NATO troops will not have much to worry about. Also, if these troops are stationed in Albanian sectors, there's little Belgrade can do, and to be honest, I'd rather see officially sanctioned security forces at work, rather than clandestine organizations with ties to the criminal underworld patroling the streets. In other words, Albanians are going to have security forces one way or another. Making it legal, above ground, and under the control of EULEX is far better than something that's just another acronym for UCK. But let's be honest: this KSB is not going to be Thaci stormtroopers. I highly doubt Albanians are going to be patroling Serb municipalities and neighborhoods, so before people on either side start drawing irrational conclusions, like everything in Kosovo, let's just see if it actually works.

Kosovo army is going to be formed to secure Albanians and minorities from potential regional threats that may arise. This is what EULEX is promising Kosovo people.

Time to secure this region is imperative, as we the Eurpeans are pouring money in the entire Balkan region at no avail.

on the other hand i've been thinking about how relevant it all is. you know that thing, they'll give albanians pistols but they wont give them bullets. clearly it isn’t just so albanians don’t shoot themselves in the foot, its so they don’t shoot serb civilians and in this way shoot their western puppeteers in the foot. but it’s a problem, how do you get people to stop laughing and making jokes about them empty guns. you know it undermines morale and i would say pretty badly.
hmm. krav maga training has this part where they teach you how to use your rifle as a blunt weapon. i just remembered, but i'm not sure if there's technique to use an empty pistol in the same way :) damn and blast. maybe albanians armed with empty pistols could at least throw them at serb civilians living in ghettos?
and here's my general contemplation. putting terrorists, former terrorists or peasant terrorist wannabes in yank uniforms doesn’t make them policemen. er, army? what are they supposed to be again. security?

Considering past and Serbias current stance, it is very urgent for Kosovo to gain military power. Serbia is taking all steps to destabilise Kosovo's integrity, its policy and economy, so to make life of Albanians as difficult as possible. It considers former occupation and brutal assaults on Albanians as right and has never announced Milosevic's Kosovo policy was wrong. No doubt, Serbia would attac Kosovo if there was no NATO presence there. This Serbian government is considered as quite democratic.
