My heart goes out to the Lgbt people, not just in serbia but throughout the balkans (not to mention the world.) there remains an environment of non-acceptance and marginalization at best, and prejudice and open hatred and violence at worst.
a lot of it involves deeply held societal views that are not easy to change, but they are also subject to the leadership. if the leaders, the politicians, refuse to acknowledge these folks as people with the same rights and abilities as everyone else, and instead focus all of their energies on the usual (nationalist) dogma, then progress is extremely difficult. hard but not impossible. we have to seek out allies who will respect us.
for gays, lesbians, and trans-gender people, i'm glad that there is this gay/straight alliance -- you need to find strength and support from like-minded folks around the world, and demand your rights, particularly the right to basic protection of your lives!
good luck, and stay strong!
