to lili: a official note from Brazil.
"The Brazilian government does not support the independence of Kosovo and would only recognize if such a political agreement was made with Serbia, under the conduct of the United Nations. The Brazilian government reaffirms its belief that a peaceful solution for the issue of Kosovo must continue to be sought through dialogue and negotiation, under the auspices of the United Nations and the legal framework of Resolution 1244 of the Council Security" was stated by Celso Amorim, Foreign Minister of Brazil, in statement regarding protests against Kosovo independence in Serbia. He also said that countries that have recognized the independence of Kosovo put the United Nations in "second place."

Surely, there must be two individuals who post here under the name “roberto from frisco”.

There is the “roberto from frisco” who preaches tolerance and “give peace a chance” and promotes a positive outlook for the New Year.

Then there is the other “roberto from frisco” who believes that he, using his words, needs to “preach” and “lecture” to “particuarly serb people and their diaspora” in what is usually an offensive and arrogant manner.

The first “roberto from frisco” believes that we all should promote peace and believes, using his words, “much less should we be adding fuel to the flames as happens, every day! on these pages.”

Surely, there is more then one individual posting as ‘roberto from frisco’ otherwise this one individual appears rather hypocritical.

Anyway I just want to say that last year I was able to collect few thousands of signatures in Brazil asking TO NEVER RECOGNIZE KOSOVO INDEPENDENCE,I sent to the Brazilian Senate and I receive a response from a Senator telling that BRAZIL WILL NEVER RECOGNIZE A NATO PUPPET COUNTRY. I did my part, and don't tell that a country that has a GDP of US$ 1,994 trillion is not important, we are richer than a lotta of European countries.

KOSOVO is independent every wichway and will remain so. On the other hand Serbia got the right to use its own airspace as long as dosen't violate Internationally recognized Republic of Kosovo. As far as I know Kosovo has nothing against Serbia and Serbian people.Serbs have the right to exercise their own rights in their own state.

Prepared to consider is the keyword, and he is saying it because Serbia hasn't even made the request yet. Even if they scrap it, it only deals with what Serbia can or can't do in it's territory, not in Kosova, which will still be off limits for Serbia.

tim

Last month NATO said Serbia could make this proposition, but that it dosen't mean NATO will seriously consider it.
So why the change of heart? Are we to expect more surprises in Serbias favor?

statements like:
"idiotic move by Nato", "Why don't you give them a NUKE while you're at it?", "would be lunacy" are terribly forecoming aren't they? These statements come from long Pro-UDI supporters. The depths of ironic sentiment that one can pour out is stagering, yet it seems to have been lost on these gentlemen. There seems to be a unnecessary fear about something wholly horrible happening as a result, that the region would destablize yet further, without any sort of recognition that the support of a UDI is a tremendous destabalizing force in itself.
It seems to me that pro UDI posters would have it such that Kosovo Albanians control 100% of its our territory (regardless of its current international status as a territory within Serbia under UN/EULUX mandate), while it is completely unacceptable that Serbia cannot maintain full control over its own land. I see a pot and a kettle, both are black and neither of them seems to realize it.
One piece of compromise is the first step to a true solution. Without a fair and honest evaluation of the situation from both sides there will never be peace. The rhetoric being displayed on sites like this one dangerously lead into a situation reminisant of Isreal and Palestine: a bloody conflict that has not stopped since its origin. If Albanians and Serbians (in Serbia and Kosovo and Albania) don't stop to think for a moment and take a serious look at peaceful compromise, dialog and respect for eachother then nothing good will come of this. It is clear that there has been nothing of the sort between these two parties, and there doesn't seem to be an suggestion that there will be one.

Lunacy, correct. The support of a UDI without dialog is lunacy. The support of a UDI without compromise has ratcheted up the tensions in an astronomical and wholly unnecessary way. Now its time to move forward, but the issues of the past must be taken into account.
Afterall, isn't peace the desired outcome? Or do scurmishes and flareups only help to justify the existances of the world's militaries that now work under the pretext of "peace"

i'm against it. the only way this frozen kosovo conflict can be solved is when albanans come back to serbia's warm embrace and negotiate their awfully broad autonomy.
there's another idea but its desperate and absurd, that serwer guy said it, that serbia will sign something? to let kosovo become un member? as we say over here, the serb mother is yet to give birth to the 'hero' who would dare do that :)
or, kosovo can stay frozen forever. but how, with no jobs, no money, all that horrible crime, clans, corruption.

The West always tries to right their wrongs. It might take them awhile to see the light in certain situations, but when they do recognize the light's Source, they embrace it and sing out loud:

Just like a blind man I wandered along,
Worries and fears I claim for my own.
Then like a blind man that God gave back his sight,
Praise the Lord, I saw the Light.

I was a fool to wander astray.
Straight is the gate and narrow the way.
Now I have traded the wrong for right.
Praise the Lord I saw the Light.

roberto,
let me tell you what an idiotic move is.

The fact that Israel is bombing the Palestinians. I think that NATO should go and bomb Israel until she surrenders. As for the Serbs, why do you care.

I personally think that Serbia should arm itself to the teeth, so that she will never again be occupied by invaders.

In regards to your post, i don't understand it one bit. You always make a statement with out supporting facts.

You state that the reason Serbia should not rearm, is that it would be idiotic. You then sum up your statment with the following words, ratchet, tensions and astronomical. Are you describing outer space. Funny, how you can't say for Pristina, but you can say for Serbia.

On what merits do you post and have you ever been to Serbia. The way you post, one would think that you are an expert everything Serbian.

I have a feeling this would be a great final solution in your opinion. What's wrong with this? Why can't a country control it's own borders?

Who is going to patrol the entire world? This is what US has done to Iraq and allowed Turks to bomb Kurds in the very no fly zone for the Iraqis.

Perhaps US has finally realized that they cannot continue to bully as they are running out of money for that.
Time is coming when everything will return to the way it should be and your Albanian relatives will have nothing to say about that.

What does it say in international circles. Serbia can treat the border with Kosovo the same as every other border it has with neighboring "nations" It no longer sets up a safety zone within Serbia with Kosovo in the middle of it. And to think it is the Serbian govt pushing for this.
There is no increase of danger, any military excursion into the borders of Kosovo would be seen as an afront to NATO.
Do not let Rhetoric fool you, there are some who chant 1244 like it is a pro-serbian resolution.
