Peter the accuracy of the number does not carry a central importance. Only a few months ago Serbian Human Rights groups claimed 10,000 albanians killed. Let's say that we agree there were not 13,000 but 10,000.

You tell me what is the difference? How many deaths would you like to see, to agree with the fact that Kosovo should never be ruled by Serbia.

The mass graves of Albanians are found often in Serbia, all the way to Belgrade, as the articles I brought here noted.

Now how would you feel if the others start fooling around with polish victims of Russians and Germans. There is no moral and no honor in that. There were 1 milion people displaced, thousands dead, their goods destroyed, and yet many find room for sarcasm.

Regarding Katyn, an exact number could be ascertained because the corpses were physically counted and cannot possibly be inflated.
(Peter Sudyka, 17 January 2009 13:20)

It is hard to count the killed K-Albanians since their bodies are in mass-graves in Serbia as Batajnica, Danub river, some other military barracks etc.

The criminals hde the bodies the army gives also to the enemies a decent funeral.

13 000 might be the total of Albanians, Serbs and Roma killed as well as missing from the entire war and period before. Even the US state department claims 10 000 Albanians were killed. This shows that 13 000 is nothing more than Albanian propaganda.

Regarding your Russian-Polish example, if some number were claimed, it would be obvious that it is the opinion of one side, because the other side would say something else. Such as always been the case throughout all history.

Regarding Katyn, an exact number could be ascertained because the corpses were physically counted and cannot possibly be inflated.

Racak is just one of so many terrible tragedies to befall kosovo/a, and yes the same old lies and denial, what else is new.

w/out naming any names, i do think it is sad and hard, in this instance, for serbs of conscience (and i know of many personally)in such circumstances. i am sure that they personally were never guilty nor approved of such horrors, and probably tried in their own way to oppose them at the time, at least some of them.

that is one reason that i never try to generalize about entire ethnic groups -- how i feel about extreme nationalists is one story, but it doesn't ever! mean all people of a certain nationality. some choose to interpret my words that way, but it is never what i personally say or believe.

just the opposite -- i think it is vital for persons of different nationalities, religions, colors, whatever, to make alliances when possible. i try to do this in my personal life -- we try to do so at my school, i try to do this in my chosen work, and i try to suggest that my frnds do the same. mostly you lead by example.

all victims of war crimes deserve our care and sympathy. i hate using victims for political purposes, even as i clearly understand how relieved i am that belgrade no longer controls kosovo/a. that doesn't automatically mean utopia, but it was an absolute necessity, in my opinion.

thank you.

Denis what is wrong with giving an accurate figure of war dead rather than inflating them or claiming they were all civilians? People just want the truth, not to hear lies. Of course some don't want to hear the truth, and cannot be helped.

Ximi, now you are also involving yourself in inflating figures - more than 13,000. On what basis do you make this assumption? Do you find it offensive that politicians are abusing the dead for their own reasons? I certainly do

Did you not read what I wrote about Cedomir Jovanovic? Do you not have any sense of my sadness that any civilians could die. I am not the only one in Serbia that feels this way. Do you really think we are all monsters that don't care?

No, its not nice to say, but some are reveling in the role of victim and are unable to think straight. Others are denying before thinking seriously. Its like I'm whistling in the wind. As far as apologies are concerned they don't help in the end. For example what good would an apology from me do when I did not support military activities to 'solve' Kosovo in the first place, rather I supported diplomacy as a means to solve the Kosovo problem.

No, I have not changed my opinion, I believe I was right. This problem should still be solved by negotiation and diplomacy.

Anyway I will now contradict myself if it makes any Albanians feel better, I will bite the bullet. I am deeply sorry if any civilians were killed at Racak. I am deeply sorry about any Serb or other civilians that were killed in the Jugoslav wars also. It sickens me to my stomach. In fact it makes me so angry I cannot express myself. No I don't get angry with Albanians or Serbs, I get angry with the butchers who killed the civilians - the scum of the earth.

How fitting. A fake massacre remembered in a fake entity by fake politicians and liars.

For anyone wishing to dig a little deeper, the evidence is fairly strong to prove this was a hoax.

It's a great shame that real massacres in this world, like the one going on in Palestine are justified by the same people while they make up stories to justify dropping their bombs throughout the world.

It is all very sad indeed. Humans creating more reasons to keep killing each other. May all of those innocent people of any ethnicity rest in peace.

July 15, 2001
BELGRADE, Feb 10 (AFP) - More than 900 bodies of Kosovo war victims have been unearthed from three mass graves in Serbia since June 2001, Nebojsa Covic, a key Serbian official in charge of Kosovo affairs said Monday.

Covic, who is also Serbia's deputy prime minister, said the bodies were believed to be ethnic Albanians killed during the 1999 conflict in Kosovo and brought to Serbia, Tanjug news agency reported.

April 20, 2007
RUDNICA, Serbia (Reuters) - Serbia started an investigation on Tuesday into a mass grave believed to contain up to 500 Albanian victims of the Kosovo war, a reminder of why the United Nations is considering independence for the province.

The probe began at an abandoned quarry in no-man's land between checkpoints on the 2-km (1.2-mile) wide boundary dividing Serbia from its southern province, now a U.N. protectorate.

"We came to check claims that at this location lie the remains of an undetermined number of people," investigative judge Milan Diplaric told reporters. "We don't know if there is even one body."

The site was still unmarked, and journalists were led right over it. Officials would first mark the site and then do a test dig over four to five days, bringing in forensic specialists if they find human remains.

The grave was first mentioned in testimonies given to U.N. authorities in 2004.
A senior Serbian official told Reuters on Monday that, based on data collected through remote sensing on the site, he expected "between 300 and 500 bodies" to be found.

He said he believed the bodies were originally buried elsewhere, then dug up, loaded onto four trucks, and dumped at the quarry on June 3, 1999

There are 1,500 Albanians still missing today as reported from international organizations.

@ Peter Sudyka. Peter if these were Polish murdered by Russians, would you put a question mark behind the number impying, that 10,000 victims, are of a lesser importance than 13,000?? Please do not through stones, from you glass house.

F.Sejdiu is a specialist in reversing the truth. I saw his interview on Jezeera network (where he couldn't speak English) he kept on just telling lies in that reversed fashion. Such as for instance
"Serbs destroyed hundreds of Albanian churches".
The number of deaths on the K-Albo side was astronomical according to him...even much of them were kidnapped!

Of course the murder of civilians is always deplorable but what is this about 13,000 Albanian civilians dead?

This number seems to get higher and higher on a daily basis. The original estimate of 12,000 dead on all sides was used for a while by the world media, although some brought this figure downward or widened the estimate (7,000 to 12,000).

Now we have this estimate that 13,000 Albanians died and apparantly they were ALL civilians, so does that mean that the figure of all Albanian dead (civilians and fighters) is about 14,000 or higher or is the suggestion that members of the KLA were civilians? I don't normally quibble about numbers but somebody is being dishonest here on more than one level.

Speaking of dishonesty Serbia 'does not have a single leader' who accepts Serbian committed crimes against humanity...', well who is Cedomir Jovanovic?

You can tell the quality of a man by the mistruths and exaggerations he makes.

Its a shame that the dead cannot be remembered sombrely, rather their number is abused for politics.

Just like Kosovo is fake, illegal, and immoral state, so is the Racak Hoax which was orchestrated by the KLA and William Walker.

There is abundant evidence that the Racak massacre was fabricated for anyone who does not have their head in the sand. Madeline Albright claimed that 'dozens of civilians had their throats slit' - the forensics reports concluded that all died of gunshot wounds, only one at close range. Also, forensics showed that 37 of the 40 bodies had gunpowder on them, which proves they were KLA fighters, not civilians.
Bill Clinton (who is a proven liar via the Lewinsky incident) claimed, 'Civilians were forced to kneel in a ditch and were mowed down' - another lie. There was no blood beside the bodies placed in the ditch, and the KLA uniforms were replaced with civilian clothing on the victims. It seems Walker's crew of fabricators were very sloppy when staging this fake 'massacre'.
This is the big shameless lie that started the real war crime, the illegal 78 day bombing of Serbia, around the clock. Yet these same people who lied and lied, fabricated evidence, accused others of war crimes, and blackened the name of Serbia, like Solana, claim to be Serbia's friends now. Let's never forget how immoral, and how corrupt, these characters are, and let's keep bombarding them with the truth. That is what they are afraid of most.
Cheers!!

"...does not have a single leader who accepts that Serbia committed crimes against humanity in Kosovo.”

I thought that at least he can be taken seriously as a politician among the figures like Thaci and Haradinaj, but no- this guy is not one inch better.

Racak massacre was the biggest hoax. Those were uck terrorists who had their uniforms taken off and dressed into civilian clothes - after they died.
(Ratko, 16 January 2009 13:14)

kind of funny!!! you mean 2-3 years old children had uniforms too? or maybe the old man on the wheel chair?
just a reminder you can not hide your crimes anymore like you did in the past when no media was available, no TV no internet no communications, time has changed my friend, we got old sayings (pumpkin will not stay on the top of the water all the time, it will sink one day).
and I am not blaming you for it, but your continuously wrong politics, unless you are one of them.
Well hopefully your next generation will not follow your steps.
