HRW---Your deliberate lies and deceptions make you direct accomplices. Seselj is in the Hague for stating his personal opinions and beliefs. What kind of punishment do you think those liars deserve that inflated the numbers by 10+ fold, the ones that bore false witness to the world both in Bosnia and Kosovo. Those lies are like stamps of approval for waging wars and imposing embargos. May God have mercy on your misguided little souls.

For how long does the West think that they can continue to insult the world with their evil propaganda and manipulations of media? They are digging their own graves faster and deeper than any other oppressors in history. They drove the poor oppressed Muslims to start blowing themselves up for justice. They illegally bombed and TERRORIZED the Serbian civilians for 78 days and nights and now through their controlled media are lying and manipulating every story to justify their crimes. At presnt, the majority of the world views the Western powers as criminals, gangsters, killers of innocence, greedy and wasteful materialists and oppressors of humanity. They fail to see the most fundamental and the most obvious: the equality of their brethren in the eyes of the Maker. Henry David Thoreau said at the time when there was slavery in America that the only place that was proper for an honest man in a country where slavery was legalized and protected was jail. What we have now is worse than slavery; genocide of the poor and helpless Muslims and Africans. I am convinced that their arrogant egos have dissolved their consciousness, so I don't expect any poetic justice. What can be more ironic in this world of ours than when Bush refers to these poor and helpless brothers and sisters as evil-doers??? Gone are the days when the world felt love and compassion towards America and their #1 ally in the Middle East, the one that adopted Muslim children from Bosnia in the 90s for cheap and pathetic world televized propaganda. Look how evil that Serbia is, unlike us who looovve Muslims. My heart aches for your honest, just, and innocent citizens. Shame on you for doing all this evil in their name and with their tax revenue.

Jovan,

Again there is a tendency so say things that negate the truth. Roffel suggested that Americans avoid supporting Albanian nationalist demands. He did not say stop supporting the Kosovars.

With this horrendously biased, dishonest, anti-Serb report by HRW, it is surely now time for this same 'organisation' to be banned in all nations that aspire to true democracy and good living.

Absolutely scandalous!

so, I´d say that only a blind Albanian can believe that the western world is REALLY behind them.

Just because one author does not agree with his government's actions it does not constitute anything.
The WEST, as in EU Union, USA, and Canada have recognized the Republic of Kosovo.

One major thing overlooked under the Serbian myths and misconception is the accomplishments of the Kosovan state. With the help of the West and NATO the Kosovo Security Force will be launched in a few days.

I thank the West for all the help and contributions towards Republic of Kosovo.

@CG:

in yesterday´s wallstreet journal, Wim Roffel ( I certainly do not have to tell you who that is ) told the Albanians to stop whining, something I am constantly writing here in my comments, but what is also constantly being censored.

furthermore he writes that the Americans should rather stay neutral instead of supporting the Albanians.

Nothing Roberto says should be taken as valid because he is so openly anti Serb that his bias clouds his opinion every time.

We are so used to Roberto's "informed and caring" comments and quite frankly are getting rather tired of them.

Serbs are attacked at every opportunity while Albanians can do no wrong as far as Roberto is concerned.

roberto,

Why doesn't HRW condemn the violence the Israelis are inflicting upon the Palestinians. There have been a total of 1400 Palestinians killed by the Jewish forces so far. At this rate it will surpass the superficial inflated death toll of Srebrenica.

Further more, your postins exhude racism towards the Serbian population.

Hope you are enjoying San Fran!

Morton Abramowitz, a co-founder of this "HRW" enthusiasticlly supported the suppression of the Kurds in Turkey and the attack on Serbia by the time he was an ambassador there.
He is indirectly and directly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands and now he is teaching us the "HR" lesson.
I wonder if he critisizes the israel regime for their massacres against the Palestinians.

Thank god for Human Rights Watch and other such organizations. they act throughout the world and without bias toward any particular groups or countries incl. the usa. the only "softening-up" they engage in is against repressive regimes and their apologists, and they need some softening-up, big time!

of course some people or organizations speak of "human rights" in disingenuous ways, but that is another issue.

as for the human rights groups inside serbia, they are under so much pressure (as this reports mentions), both as organizations and individuals. death threats are common, "anonymous" or otherwise, and all manner of threats and assaults occur, more or less tolerated by the officials. this is why i always say they deserve a special place in heaven, even as they are so marginalized from these pages.
gotta run!

HRW has no credibility, especially in the Balkans. The same people running HRW have had a hand in de-stabilizing countries in the region, particularly Serbia. Now they are trying to do the same thing to Belarus. And really, claiming Roma are marginalized in Serbia proper and saying nothing about how they have been ethnically cleansed by the KLA in Kosovo is an absolute farce.

T Payne

Interesting! When this report (assuming it's quoted properly) mentions minorities in Serbia it names them - Albanians, Roma, etc. But when it refers to minorities in Kosovo (meaning mostly Serbs) they are simply 'minorities'.

I think that Human Rights is a noble pursuit that has been well and truly usurped by ignoble forces. Like the missionaries of the nineteenth century, human rights activists and other so-called 'NGOs' are often employed, knowingly or otherwise, to soften up areas before they are economically and politically taken over.
