Without Western money for Russia's gas, what will the average Russian person eat? The relationship is mutual, you know. Russia is only growing thanks to Western money. If that's gone, it will be 1998 all over again.

Another Canadian Serb, I know that for Serbian nationalists it is natural to declame that Russia will be the super power of the universe. However, I would like to remind you that in Central Europe, in particular countries like Germany, France, etc. nobody is freezing a little bit, whereas Russian "friends" like Serbia experience the first week of full Russian control over their energy lines. I'm getting messages from my relatives in Serbia and nobody shares your euphemistic talking. In the contrary, they have their worse Christmas since ever. So spare us with that. Russia failed to fulfill its commitment, otherwise explain why some parts of Europe have gas and other parts like Serbia have to beg the (Belo-)Russians to get a little bit. It looks like more that Russia sells now only the Gas for which it gets the higher revenues.

The 400km pipeline through Serbia is looking like it will need to get accelerated :)).
With the Russians re-opening the refinery in in Bosanski Brod, in Republika Srpska, and this deal with NIS, they are clearly marking Serbia as a key friend and ally.

I doubt, with such huge investments in Serbian areas, they will allow any more illegal and criminal 'humanitarian bombing' to happen by the US and their minions, without major consequences. These are all great developments, since it is clear that we now have a strong protector.
Cheers!!

Yes Canadian Serb,

The EU will drop the euro, and adopt the sinking ruble. Europe's economy will drop to the level of Russia. Both will go to the dogs. It is fine with me.

The recent lack of natural gas being pumped into Europe, strengthens the fact that Russia should and maybe will be the centre of Europe. Better yet, Russia will be what ever direction she wants to be.

The global powers are shifting from West to East.

oh no.. I hope they didn't shut down those three thermal power plants completely, but instead make them maintain minimal temperature in the system... Otherwise the pipes will be freezed out and thus severely damaged :(

this is bad :/
