Bosnians throw shoes at "politicians"

Several dozen Sarajevo residents yesterday decided to throw their shoes at posters depicting leading politicians in Bosnia.

I don't think Bosnians get the whole shoe throwing idea. You are suppose to throw shoes at "real" people not posters of people.


I wonder if they got their shoes back or went home barefoot :)

I guess they have nothing better to do in Sarajevo.

Symbolic of a highly intolerant society thats fostering in Sarajevo under the aegis of the UN puppeteers. Shoe throwing and Christmas banning...whats next?

The thing is however, that in Iraq, throwing shoes and beating someone with shoes is considered the most offencive, most deragotry act in Iraqi society.

And that is WHY such act carries so much weight, not the actual act of throwing shoes.

I cannot decide if this act is homage to Iraqis or just an intense want to be identified with Iraqis.
