...what our dear friends fail to see:

with every ( in his back - cowardly ) stabbed teenager their illusion of being a state and getting real recognition is floating further away.

with every burnt down church, monastery and killed or seriously wounded teenager the world gets to see more and more of your true face.

you are losing. and that is good.

@Eric

That was very interesting info Eric. Other than the Fort Dix stuff I didn't know Kosovo was so close to 911, nor did I know the explosives in spain are linked to Kosovo. Do you have any sources for that info?

Also, there is also the KLA guys who tried to see explosives to a British journalist disguising himself as the IRA.

Each time something happens in Kosova Serbian camp doesn't miss the opportunity to show her hate for Kosova.

FACTS:

1) incident (probably with ethnic background) boy is stabbed by another boy (in London you have 4-5 cases per week)

*In this case these were two adult men not a boy who stabbed him.

2) the aggressor is ARRESTED by KPS

*Could not turn a blind eye to this one as EULEX is in town but let’s wait and see what happens from here on. This was a last incident of many before. Enough is enough.

3) the arrest of the aggressor is not enough for SERBIAN MOBS who attack Albaian properties and set them on fire.

*The arrest of 10 war criminals was enough provocation for ALBANIAN MOBS to go out and look for Serbian children to attempt to kill.

IT IS SERBS THAT SET ON FIRE Albanian houses and shops. NOT VICE VERSA.
(ben, 30 December 2008 21:49)

*It’s the ALBANIANS who went out looking to KILL Serbian children which is a lot worse than setting property on fire. Neither one is acceptable but what Albanians tried to do is far worse and they had no motive except the one which says go and kill Serbian children if they dare arrest any of our criminals. When you stop defending your CRIMINALS by trying to put terror into Serbian population if they dare to arrest them, you may have legitimate complaints. Until then, If I were you, I would put my head down in shame for this attempted murder instead of trying to justify it.

Eric (USA)

pre 15 godina

Johny,

Why are trying to make me out to be some sort of ethical monster and why are you so drastically misinterpreting what I wrote?

The point I was making is that the violence which occurred 10 years ago or more is constantly being used to justify or at least 'explain' the violence which occurs today. And if you think that the story about the Albanian girl (one I would very much like to read if you have a link) has any true bearing on what happened yesterday than shame on you. However that is not to say that her life means less or is somehow irrelevant in absolute.

And it is the fault of the West and the US. They intervened in something which they had no understanding of and killed four times the amount of people in Kosovo than the Serbs and Albanians did while fighting each other. That is a fact. This whole mess was more or less solved by 1999. The KLA (who was terrorizing the Albanian population and well as the Serbs) was expelled from Serbia and Albanian and Serb refugees were beginning to return to their homes. Until NATO grossly started claiming that 100,000 Albanian men had been executed and decided to 'intervene'.

I suppose the joke is on the US and the West though. Nearly all the money used to fund the Sept 11th hijackers was sent from Kosovo. 14 of the 19 hijackers (5 of them veterans of the Bosnian Moslem army) came to the United States from Kosovo after receiving false IDs there. The explosives used in the Spanish train bombing and the people who trained the bombers came from Kosovo. And just a few weeks ago 3 Kosovo Albanians were convicted of plotting to attack a US army base in New Jersey. A 4th was convicted in the same trial of attempting to purchase illegal fire arms for that purpose.

And speaking of regard for human life. How many war criminals have the Serbs sent to trial? And how many war criminals have the ethnic Albanians sent to trial? And whose trial's were rampant with witness tampering, witness threatening and witness murdering? Who is scared to death of the truth?

Mike

pre 15 godina

Johny,

I wish I could agree with something more optimistic in your comments, but sadly it's true: human life is expendible if political, nay ideological, battles are won.

You're more right than you know, my friend.

Who cares if someone who is 13 years old is shot by the state army, it was 10 years ago and in war. Her life doesn't matter. However the life of the person who got stabbed yesterday does matter. So much disrespect for human life.

Any other regular readers of B92 here who act like they didn't see the article.

It's not the fault of the West or the US. It is because among us, Serbs and Albanians we have people who don't give a damn about human life as long as they are not of their nationality. We have you who says its irrelevant that some 13 year old got shot, and we have those who say it is irrelevant that this 16 year old got stabbed. With people like that among us, nothing is going to change. Spare me any lame excuses.

Eric (USA)

pre 15 godina

Johny,

I check B92 daily and I saw no article last week about this 13yo Albanian girl you mentioned. Do you have a link?

Regardless, I fail to see any logic to what you just said. Today a 16yo Serbian boy was stabbed in the back by two Albanians. What does that have to do with something that happened almost 10 years ago and in a war zone? Who cares if the perpetrators were caught, the crime has been committed and the damage is done. With the Albanian notion of "Blood Feud" there will be two more to take stabbers' place until they get out of jail.

And all the 1990's taught us was that the Western European and United States governments have absolutely no understanding of the Balkans. And that mass media has the capability of portraying the victims of hatred and terrorism as the antagonists.

johny

pre 15 godina

First of all no matter the causes, stabbing someone is a crime. Whoever did this, and thankfully KPS caught them should be thrown in jail for a couple of decades at least. I notice how the Serbs here do not mention the fact that KPS caught them. I think that is intentional and for political reasons and that is a shame.
Second I noticed the hypocrisy of people here. Last week we had an article about a 13 year old Albanian girl whose brothers, and parents were killed by Serbian troops. She herself was shot but survived. The Serbs in the site not only did not show any disgust for that crime, as they are rightly doing for this, but some went further to state that it never happened, that it was a fabrication, or that it was the Albanians fault. I feel the same disgust when I hear the Albanians act the same. It seems that for some people if you are of a different nationality your life is worth nothing, or worth very little. I am talking about people here, Serbs and Albanians, who always react based on what political points can be scored rather then how precious human life is. I have no sense of affinity or excuse for Albanians who do the same. That kind of thinking incites hate. There are people who are always ready to bear the torch for their side without ever analyzing what their side did wrong. I am talking about both Albanians and Serbs here. As long as we keep doing that we are always going to have 13 year old girls whose families are killed, or 16 years old boys stabbed with knives.
Some people do not give a damn about human life, as long as they win a political battle. I though the 90's was enough to teach to stop thinking that way and think differently. Apparently it didn't.

veki

First, we don't know the motive for why the Serb boy was stabbed. Was is simply because he was Serb? Was it part of a yet to be revealved altercation?

Second, the Albanian owned shops that were torched is equally condemnable. They had nothing to do with the incident.

But that Albanians south of the Ibar tried to cross into the North is the most deplorable. No doubt any such incident is enough for certain people to start a general riot.

It sounds like you are saying Albanians should be exempt from consequences when they break the law, and if anyone tries to do anything about it, Albanians will terrorize them.

I can only hope that most Albanians don't think the way you do. The arrests of KLA cannot be used as a justification for stabbing Serb children. By the same token burning and looting innocent people's property by Serbs as a response is a crime as well.

The KPS needs to seriously prosecute the two Albanians for this hate crime. As long as there is no law and order in Kosovo, Serbs will never have a place there.

Again a relatively unsurprising occurrence in "kosova" the land of criminals. It is particularly disturbing considering the boys age but this is merely an indications of the level of hatred which Serbs are exposed to. There comes a point when the economic and political costs of retaking the northern part of Kosovo by force are outweighed by the danger imposed on the people living there. I think Mr. Tadic needs to decide when to draw the line and how he intends to unite Serbs across the balkan in order to achieve some sort of justice for his people.

Each time something happens in Kosova Serbian camp doesn't miss the opportunity to show her hate for Kosova.

FACTS:

1) incident (probably with ethnic background) boy is stabbed by another boy (in London you have 4-5 cases per week)

2) the aggressor is ARRESTED by KPS

3) the arrest of the aggressor is not enough for SERBIAN MOBS who attack Albaian properties and set them on fire.

IT IS SERBS THAT SET ON FIRE Albanian houses and shops. NOT VICE VERSA.

This really does not bode well for us, for those who are trying to make progress and build peace instead of the usual hate fest. altho i too would like to read just a slightlier more objective "news" report (please give me a break!)

i am very sorry for this young victim, and for all victims of hate, everywhere. and i know this area, we have met very decent people there, of all ethnicities (it goes without saying.)

we can start by renouncing the hate, instead of pushing it, every SINGLE day on these pages, and you know who you are. a great shame upon you!

The rule of law amongst the Albanians seems like something completely abstract, something impossible to apply.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these criminals escape justice.

What a lawless hole Kosovo turned into since not any longer under Serbian control.

I am disgust by the performed “bravery” of these two Albanians who attacked 16 years old boy.

Dragan

pre 15 godina

A 16 year old boy stabbed in the back by these 'brave' albanians. Why does that not suprise me? His crime was probably that he dared to speak Serbian in public. What a sick society it is down there. Time to send in the Serbian army soon.

johny

This was expected, you cant arrest 11 former UCK fighters and think it will go away. Unfortunately its the civilians who always has to pay for it.
(Pejoni, 30 December 2008 19:02)

Pejoni, what are you saying? You arrest any Albanians and we will kill your kids. A sixteen year old is still a minor. Eighteen year old is an adult.

So you will kill innocent Serbian minors if any of your criminals are arrested. Why don't you wait and see what the courts determine about the guilt and innocence of your "heroes".

ZK

pre 15 godina

Thank you Pejoni for at least being honest. The Serbian police arrest 10 suspected Albanian terrorists and you now claim that stabbing a 16 year old Serbian boy in the back is a measured response.

More endless justification for crime coming from the Albanian side!

Eric (USA)

pre 15 godina

Spare me any lame excuses.

veki

pre 15 godina

Consider this 'reasoning' here by the Albanian camp-

Serbs arrest KLA members- therefore- Albanians get a liscence to kill a Serbian boy. Against the same logic, Serbs for the killing attempt of this boy must not burn Albanian shop?!?

Cowards!

Peter RV

pre 15 godina

Where is now Kouchner to explain us that this is simply a manifestation of the Albanian grief of what the Serbs have done to them?
B92 should issue an unequivical statement that the violence should seize on "both sides".

CG

pre 15 godina

Thanks god we Serbs responded accordingly...
Nothing new in Kosovo,Albanians starting trouble, attacking kids and roberto defending them.
If you think by stabbing a 15 year old kid in the back and running away you will reverse the enforcement of justice you are mistaken.
Thanks god Northern Mitrovica will now definitely join proper Serbia(while Kosovo is legally a province in Serbia) because foreigners got to know the Albanians and will act accordingly.

Eric (USA)

pre 15 godina

Nicholas Klinsman

pre 15 godina

What's your point Pejoni?

It sounds like you are saying Albanians should be exempt from consequences when they break the law, and if anyone tries to do anything about it, Albanians will terrorize them.

I can only hope that most Albanians don't think the way you do. The arrests of KLA cannot be used as a justification for stabbing Serb children. By the same token burning and looting innocent people's property by Serbs as a response is a crime as well.

The KPS needs to seriously prosecute the two Albanians for this hate crime. As long as there is no law and order in Kosovo, Serbs will never have a place there.

What Ivanoivic says is completely irrelevant to me.

Can we hear the OFFICIAL sources: KPS, KFOR, EULEX???
(ben, 30 December 2008 18:40)

Well, we already realized that hard truth is irrelevant for you and most of the K-A posters.
By the way, yest under "Kosovo independance, a debacle" you wanted some facts, so go back to the article, I provided some that am sure will be of interest to you!

Mike

pre 15 godina

First, we don't know the motive for why the Serb boy was stabbed. Was is simply because he was Serb? Was it part of a yet to be revealved altercation?

Second, the Albanian owned shops that were torched is equally condemnable. They had nothing to do with the incident.

But that Albanians south of the Ibar tried to cross into the North is the most deplorable. No doubt any such incident is enough for certain people to start a general riot.

Mr.Wade, Since you are from Fort Dix, please be kind enough to explain to some of us here on the Balkan, why is it every time we google Kosovo or Albania, the Fort Dix Six case never shows up? The avoidance to identify the nationality or ethnicity of the Kosovo Albanians that were involved in the Fort Dix plot, speaks volumes of your State Department and their connection with the mainstream media. Their ethnicity and nationality was only published in the first several articles following their arrest, and no more, even during the verdict. Thank you in advance.

Mike

Johny,

I wish I could agree with something more optimistic in your comments, but sadly it's true: human life is expendible if political, nay ideological, battles are won.

You're more right than you know, my friend.

@Eric

That was very interesting info Eric. Other than the Fort Dix stuff I didn't know Kosovo was so close to 911, nor did I know the explosives in spain are linked to Kosovo. Do you have any sources for that info?

Also, there is also the KLA guys who tried to see explosives to a British journalist disguising himself as the IRA.

...what our dear friends fail to see:

with every ( in his back - cowardly ) stabbed teenager their illusion of being a state and getting real recognition is floating further away.

with every burnt down church, monastery and killed or seriously wounded teenager the world gets to see more and more of your true face.

you are losing. and that is good.
