Debate all you want, no one is asking you. Serbs wanted EULEX and wanted it to go through the UN, now deal with it. Don't forget it was the Albanians who opposed the UN move.

If Eulex violates the terms of the agreement then they broke it and the agreement is gone, null and void. The Serbs have kept their side of the agreement now it is up to Eulex to keep their part.

I have always said it and will continue to say it, If Resolution 1244 isn't being adhered to what made Tadic think that EULEX would be adhered to?

First, make sure that res. 1244 is honoured and then talk about EULEX. No, Tadic couldn't wait to say yes to everything hoping someone is going to grant him a crumb leftover from a banquet that EU and Albanians had.

Yes, it was. Tadic knew this so blame him, not US /EU. It was done, as Americans say with a wink and a nod after Serbia was told no SAA unless you accept EULEX. Did you really, really think that EU would implement something against the will of 95% of the population???

The same for SAA and EU membership, Serbia will have to be 'constructive' for now, and recognize later on. Don't say EU broke its promise so choose.

The EU and US have been upfront all along. Neither were involved in the negotiations with Serbia on the 6 point plan, neither ever mentioned they were going to participate in the 6 point plan. Both have said from day one they support the Ahtissari plan. US and majority of EU have recognized Kosovo as an independent state. The only ones that have been deceptive in this is the officials of Serbia. They are the ones that told all their people what the EU and US were going to do, without consulting them.
But the fact does remain that it is not EULEX that implements the Ahtissari plan, EULEX is a product of the Ahtissari plan. EULEX is only implementing the rule of law as laid out in Resolution 1244, Laws developed autonomously in Kosovo without Serbian interference.
They have agreed that EULEX officials will not refer to Kosovo as an independent state nor as an autonomous province of Serbia. Their mission does not need to make that distinction. They will enforce the laws of the constitution of Kosovo as dictated in 1244.

I realy do beleve that eulex is the best game in town right now, and we need to see that it works and is not sabotaged. there is so much work to be done, which could and should benefit all the people of kosovo/a and by extension, the people of the region.

i know that many people think i am prejudiced towards the albanian POV. and i am very supportive of the albanian kosovars, but also of every other group in kosovo/a: serbs, bosniaks, roma, etc. they are all citizens of the country, with equal rights (some "protected"), and like in every other country, we have to work to make sure that this equality "on paper" is transfered to the reality.

really it is not so different than in serbia, which also has various minority groups, and claims equality on paper. there is not room for 500 more countries in the balkans, nor should there be. we just have to learn to live together, and to follow principles of justice and equality. and i think that eulex has the POtential to help with that, as long as we support it, and monitor it.

I think this article is good as it tells the TRUTH. Guys, after all it makes sense that EULEX will help to implement Ahtisari plan. Firstly guarantees peace and stability, secondly Yes recognises Kosova as an independent state. What is the problem with it? Serbia accepted it since it was forced out from Kosova. LET'S FACE THE TRUTH and please stop moaning about the implementation process. The future is bright. Serbia will recognise formally Kosova as an independent state, mutual agreement between Kosova and Serbia for free movement of goods, people....both in the EU and all problems solved. That is NOT a ROCKET SCIENCE to understand. Happy Christmass and NEW YEAR to B92 and everyone in here!

With the same success EULEX can implement this dead borb plan somewhere in Somalia or New Guinea which are like Serbia not members of EU. So they can try to legalize some other Bantustan.

Yet I believe EU has got enough will power and enough stimuls to close somehow it's own criminal page opened in 1999. Potentilly in case the US are excludes from the process the Kosovo matter has good chances for a compromise. Russia and EU are supposed to the most positively motivated intermediators in the negoitiations to come.

Wrong take pss. 1244 did not talk about Kosovo's constitution. On the other hand 1244 recognizes Belgrade's sovereignty over Kosovo.
