This level of corruption is unprecidented in Serbia's history. At least when the country was run by souless corrupt and inept comunists, we had a proper army.

I am biased of course, but this is ridiculous even by Balkan bureaucracy standards. They money needs to go buy new weapons and train soldiers, not pay someone's friend, political supporters or cousins. The military budget is high but if you aren't buying weapons, it's misleading. Now Serbia has 1 civilian for every two soldiers and if you count officers, I bet you have more non-fighting people than soldiers. What can they do all day those 10,000 people?? ? Serbia is not like USA that has interests all over the world. The Pentagon building has just 24000 employees just so you get an idea and many are officers. US has more civilians in other places, but then USA has a $600 Billion Military budget and 2+ million soldiers.
